I will most definitely continue writing omegaverse, especially subverted and non-traditional versions of it. I would love to continue writing in the world I already built in some manner as well, as I don't think there's a lot of futuristic science/genetic hybrid based takes on it and I did a lot of research to create my own version I am somewhat proud of.

See this answer as I believe it addresses this question a little. Anything in the cyberpunk omegaverse AU written forward will be operating on the principle that TI doesn't exist at all however with agtbtb that removal from the text leaves huge holes as the driving plot and resolution revolves around medical trauma and how someone with it would respond to being treated like a body instead of a person. And though I'm keeping the text up on AO3 for as long as people would like to access it and for posterity I would never want a new reader persay to have to read through it to understand a continuation.

I will say that Kun was already being written into the narrative in a way that could subvert that but it's not as simple as a find and replace. So if I do continue the AU it will be taking the parts I loved and developed for the continuation and shedding anything related to his part in the team, which means reworking the relationships of the members and y/n into something different entirely.

I am just as bummed as you are, for sure, so I completely understand. I have been thinking the past few days how to salvage what I have in a way that doesn't require anyone read the original or the unpublished parts, primarily because I did have what I thought was a tidy conclusion feeding into a part two that saw y/n get revenge on those who wronged her and her kind and free at last to pursue her original goal . . . only to be brought back by some very angry and internally conflicted but otherwise adoring alphas. Which would lead to the thing I had been aiming for this whole time by establishing interpersonal relationships and worldbuilding: that good angsty tension and smut.

Part two aka unnamed work in progress was already planned out as it's own thing, so removing a reliance on agtbtb while adding homages to the characterizations that re-explain some of the original context or even just continuing it and letting characters find out stuff naturally might be an option. It's too much to wrap my head around right now and I'm not sure how enthusiastic people would be about it, or if they would accept what wouldn't be a straight sequel as I would feel personally like I had to strip down some of the narrative to make it easier to digest.

As a little treat in these trying times if you would like a broad overview/spoilers of what was planned I am happy to write that up, but if people would rather have it as its own part two framing narrative I would like to keep those details preserved.

I miss y'all so much as well. I'm so sorry for being offline this summer, there were a few points where I became so overwhelmed by sole caregiver/family obligations as well as a new job that I had a mental breakdown in July, then got COVID last month from a sick family member that was as bad when I first got it in 2020 when I developed long COVID so I'm still recovering.

I am going to try to be back more in any capacity even if it might be a while before I publish anything. I realized in the past few months how essential writing is to my sense of peace and it's been hard not being able to finalize anything even if I've still been drafting and (was) working on agtbtb.

I came on here to make a statement but I'm going to fold it into this answer, so thank you for sending it to me even if I disagree with it fundamentally.

I get the impulse to ask someone who addresses real world injustices in their fic for something like this but it really misses the point of why people choose to write rpf while also coming off as tone deaf to the reality that we're talking about a real crime of sexual violence involving a member a lot of us believed to be a better person and supported on that trust.

I didn't want to post right away because I saw the rampant speculation and almost horrifying glee of a lot of people in engaging with it when I have intimate knowledge of bringing criminal cases against people with institutional power and relative celebrity. In the aftermath of these things a lot of noise is generated that doesn't give time and space to the victim and obscures their narrative. For obvious reasons, ongoing investigations require silence from authorities and universal support and anger on the behalf of the person wronged.

I knew the instant that I heard Taeil was dropped from the group that the allegations were serious and made a decision to no longer support him. NCT and NCT 127 are still important to me and while I trust I do not know them I also trust that they care and respect for other people until proven otherwise. I am thankful I don't know anyone who lacks the moral and ethical prerogative to remove his presence from their lives because of this information.

Asking me to kill Taeil in my story is asking me to give my time and energy to writing someone who does not deserve it.

If I could magically wave a wand of editing to remove that thorn I would but it's a a testimony to my belief in him that I spent hours writing him into it and other unpublished chapters. I don't regret it, I can't and won't remove it from history, but I won't continue writing him or a fic with his presence in it.

I'll note it's a little weird to ask someone to write something for you, but especially when it relates to wanting a fantasy retribution versus what a real one looks like.

We all know South Korea has piss-poor patriarchal standards towards the treatment of women (to the point that the main entertainment industries are manufacturing a version of reality that believes in a world that either is without it or can overcome it) but in terms of statistics 90% of violence cases are against women (98% of homicides) and only 20% of all sexual violence cases are brought to court. If you're a victim of SA you know the actual cases are off the chart, largely unreported, especially where domestic violence is involved. Institutional discredit of victims by the police is understood, if not outrightly expected, and in this case especially the focus of everything related to it should be centering the person harmed.

To write justice into a story where the victim has no voice is not a just narrative. And I would never use a real person's pain as entertainment.

first part of your question: you absolutely suspect

second part of your question: you'll have to see. you are an unreliable narrator because we don't know your goal yet (i love thriller climaxes/mysteries where the seeds are sown, obviously) but most of the pack at this point (especially taeyong and doyoung) know whatever choice you are making in this moment is one that prioritizes the safety and the freedom of your new family. you've been set up as someone who uses and hurts other people to their own ends but also someone who believes in justice

i have everyone come to that conclusion on their own terms and their own time (all 9 of them, hence why this is drawn out) while also exploring their conflict individually.

a good question to ask yourself is what does love look like for someone trapped in a cage? if you felt like you were a burden or a harm on other people for accomplishing your goal how would you choose to minimize that damage? and what if by caring for someone you used you ended up tied to them until death?

all omegaverse canon is up to author discretion but it's generally accepted that when a bond is broken either through rejection or the death of one of the mates the other designated will experience massive emotional damage i.e. heartbreak and like animals who lose their will to live due to grief will eventually stop eating or functioning.

my take is a bit more complicated than that once it comes up again but it is like losing a soulmate, you feel like your heart has been ripped out and that hole will never be filled even if you are able to learn to live with the grief/recover. johnny wouldn't subject you to that having felt it for himself, personally.

don't doubt yourself!--it's not outright stated and it has multiple meanings throughout the story. i watch a lot of historical and fantasy dramas and you'll see this motif a lot. the common term in fiction is "life debt" -- that when someone saves you they are both responsible for you in the future and owed a great boon in return.

there's an element of tragedy here in the fact that you feel you lost your mother because of him, and worse suffered the consequences of being a child left without her. so you're desperate for him to accept this adage and help you when you first confront him at your coming of age. his rejection leads you down the path you are now.

later in the story you invoke this again when you make a decision to save jaehyun by bonding, placing him under your protection as any violence committed against him is violence committed against you. as in traditional omegaverse, bonds broken by death are one of the most painful experiences imaginable but in this au you literally share pain as well. so it's also a reminder that within a pack, and between mates, your life is a shared one
