Did you know that if you take a breath and think about it, hurting someone when they hurt you only hurts you more? Like revenge isnât worth it? Revenge doesnât work. It just opens wounds. The only people Iâve ever met who followed through with the âthey hurt me I hurt themâ rule were genuinely damaged people (not shaming Iâm damaged in a lot of ways too) and they werenât happy. It sounds like a good idea, it sounds like it would grant peace. It doesnât, it only hurts worse.
Moving on, when people say forgiveness, unless theyâre stupid. They donât mean shake hands and hug the person. They mean: acknowledge you couldnât have done anything different, release the idea that they owe you something, because even if they do you canât make them pay it, not really. And FREE YOURSELF from the load of their debt
