when i watch other people my age, i see that they have this kind of effortless way about them that i don’t think i’ll ever have. the way they talk to each other and the way they go out and pursue what interests them without having to think twice about it. the way they know how to conduct themselves, the way it all comes so naturally to them, like breathing or swimming or riding a bike. it’s like they all have something ingrained in them that i just don’t have, and it’s so embarrassing and it’s fucking killing me. i wish i knew how to be okay.

I think it’s crazy how life is mostly about leisure and spending time doing nothing but in reality it’s all about work and constant progress and aspiring toward goal after goal that when we’re given time to relax or do nothing, we don’t know what to do and instead pass time being anxious about what we’re not doing. it’s just moving onto the next thing and having the future in mind at all times, like, no wonder we’re all fatigued and unfulfilled and sad because doing nothing is hardly valued and those units of time are seen as potential of having completed something instead of being vital to living life…..all this talk about productivity just misses out on how people just hate seeing laziness in themselves and in other people….any amount of time that could’ve been spent doing something that goes wasted is met with anxiousness and self-hatred and i hate it… why does EVERYTHING have to produce a result of self-optimization? just why
