                         if he were to be honest, he was feeling….ANXIOUS. reunions and meeting up with former friends was something that made him put his walls up even further. these were people who knew him at the lowest points in his life. but also people who couldn’t see through the walls he had built for himself. and frankly, once in the past, it should be left in the past. memories, ESPECIALLY bad ones, and even people. still, with good intentions, he managed to arrive at the venue. he heard complaints from others saying it’s too early for a reunion but still, there were smiles from his former school mates. he was surrounded by them in minutes once his former seatmate announced his arrival. he remembered his face but not his name. junho felt a little as if he’s going to suffocate. he endures through it with a forced smile, answering to questions and asking some in return to be polite.

school reunions were the last thing he had expected being invited to and it wasn’t the most exciting thing in the world either. it was probably fun to some people, seeing as they could catch up with old friends and other people from their classes. to daesung, it was far from fun; knowing that people who he had opened up to about hard times and vice versa probably would be there, made him scared ( and anxious, if not unwell too ). he didn’t want anyone to remember his personal problems and he was sure that no one else wanted him to remember theirs as well. everything could happen at reunions - heated discussions or gossip about whatever to old wounds being reopened. no one could see it coming and when something first was started, it would be difficult to make it stop. still, a small spark of curiosity had found way into daesung and he had ended up going. he entered the locale and found himself among a crowd of people immediately, making him hold his breath for a couple of seconds before letting go. there were familiar faces all around and though it was a bit difficult to remember all the names, one certain face stood out in the crowd and his name was the easiest to remember.

          HE HADN’T REALLY WANTED TO BE interrupted ( or maybe he had, it was hard to tell what he truly WANTED these days ) during his little midday break by the river. but daesung’s company was always welcome — the student offered a calmness the ceo struggled with finding elsewhere. it was much needed, especially right now. «daesung-ah, how is it supposed to be my treat if you pay me back?» he chuckled at the other good-natured male. «don’t WORRY about it, really. it’s on me.»

the small chuckle from inwoo made daesung’s smile widen a bit. it wouldn’t be a treat if he was going to pay back, and now he could only shake his head a little at himself. he didn’t quite know why he came with such answers, but maybe the thought of owing someone something back was going to bother him until it was actually d o n e. the reassurance from his friend that it was going to be okay helped and daesung nodded. “let me pay another time then, when we happen to go out together again.”

HE WAS BECOMING more of an echo in her life than a steady presence. she suspected it was a GOOD thing, but parts of her missed him and what they had once had, and the stability he had represented in her life. he belonged to another version of her though, another reality, and so it felt wrong to stand on his doorstep now, even when she had texted him that she was coming by to pick up some of her stuff she had left behind by accident. she wasn’t even SURE she could handle seeing him again, but the door opened anyway and there he stood, same perfect visage and kind posture. ❛ hi, ❜ she greeted awkwardly, lump in her throat.

ever since he had received her message earlier that day, he had wandered around with the thought of how it would be to actually see her again. alive and well, in front of his two own eyes. communicating with hyerin through texts was not really a problem at all, but he always tried to imagine how her expression would be like on the other side of the screen. would she read his answers with an anxious face, fearful eyes and shaky hands, would she be totally indifferent or would she smile to herself? daesung didn’t know and he wasn’t sure if he wanted to either. maybe he was AFRAID of knowing the answer to his question, afraid of what would meet him. hours had gone by since she had sent him the text and suddenly she stood there at his doorstep. “hey,” he replied back with a little smile, trying to hold a steady voice.

WITH THE SUN SETTING and darkness beginning to  l o o m  over gangnam, jeaki sat crossed legged, a blanket thrown over the exposed flesh of his calves, with hues WATCHING — taking in the different washes of colour, that splashed throughout the night sky. he was waiting, like routine, for  f r i e n d s  to greet him ( scattering the night sky like fairy lights, beauty at its finest ). he’d opted to occupy an new spot, which was a rare decision ( considering the love he held for the list of places he alternated between ), grass surrounding his frame ( though, a small patch, before legs, was consumed with art supplies — pieces half complete ) and a row of trees, neatly, lined behind him. a content sigh flooded from lips, as STARS became more visible, and awe danced in hues — that’s when he noticed something… without a second though, his phone was slipped from out his pocket. @heydaesung

the sounds from his phone chimed through daesung’s apartment, which was rather quiet apart from the clock ticking on the wall and the typing sounds from the laptop. for the last hour or so, he had been writing on an incomplete s o n g that had been in his drafts for quite some time. it wasn’t finished yet, but more complete than earlier and a lot better. he closed the document and looked up from the bright screen to see who had sent messages. a small s m i l e formed on his lips as he saw jeaki’s name on the display. he read through the texts from his friend a couple of times before closing the laptop and getting up. a quick glance out of the window surprised daesung a little as he hadn’t noticed the sky getting darker. time passed by quickly when he worked without any breaks. he focused on the phone in his hand again, answering jeaki.
