Rolling her eyes at her computer, Harmony clambered off of her bed and looked out of her window. The sight that greeted her left her with mixed emotions. The nostalgic feeling made her smile, it reminded her of all the school nights, he stood on her lawn and waited for her to slip out of her door. The feeling of relief washed over as well. He still loved her. Still wanted her. And the feeling of sadness crept in there as well. Pulling herself away from the window, she crept downstairs as to not wake her daughter up. Opening the door and stepping onto the porch, she waved him forward. She was nervous to see him she realized. Watching him walk forward, she head open the door for him and quietly entered behind him. Leading him upstairs, she opened up her room door and walked to the middle of it leaving him to close the door and walk up to her. “Joe… What are we doing?”

Joe had been laying on the hood of his car until the last reply he typed out was finished and sent, then he moved to stand where he knew she would be able to see him. It brought back memories of sneaking out during their teens when they were still learning about one another. Though with the new information he had learned tonight, he didn't know Harmony as well as he thought. Quite honestly, he thought that she was only putting up with him recently and didn't have feelings for him anymore until she posted the photo that started their chat and led him here. He followed her into the house quickly and up the stairs, trying to be as quiet as he possibly could. Standing in front of her, Joe gave her a lopsided grin and a small shrug. "Dunno, but isn't it fun?" He pulled her into a hug, not wanting to scare her away by kissing her, no matter how badly he wanted to do so.

You can’t because I tried to replace you with David. I was so hurt when we broke up and hurt, that I looked for someone to replace you and I would’ve married him too. And it’s his daughter that I’m raising. I was trying to hurt you, that’s why you can’t love me. That’s why you shouldn’t. And when we started talking again? I wasn’t going to put either of us back into the same boat. Why do you think it took me a while to warm up to you? Joe… stop playing games.

And you're entitled to yours. I think so. I can't be too sure when it happened, but somewhere around that time. My dad actually called you my girlfriend that morning too and I didn't correct him when I should have. I didn't want to though. Now whose telling whom what to do. I can and I do. I can't just stop. I've been doing it a long time. So what? I was with Emily. I didn't mean for her to be a replacement but that's technically what she was. I know it's his daughter but I love her and I love you. Now I'm not playing games, come outside. These mosquitoes are bugging the shite outta me.

I swear you’re such a smart ass at times. I was never joking about what we had, I would like to put the past where it belongs actually. Behind us and keep it there. And this is why I didn’t want to bring this up. Because you didn’t see it. I fucking loved you! I still do! Is that what you would like to hear? It needs to stay buried, because you can’t beat a dead horse Joe and that’s why it won’t work a second time. I refuse to let someone in who only plans on being there for a moment, I don’t deserve and more importantly my daughter doesn’t deserve it. It did seem that way and it hurt Joe. You don’t think I was busy? You thought I would be sitting there just waiting for you? No, I was out there going for my dream and trying to be your girlfriend. Joe, it sounds like a replacement. I wonder all the time. I swear you have such nice words, but that’s just what they are. Words.

In my opinion, it doesn't belong in the past. Yes actually, that is what I wanted to hear because I feel the same way, did back then as well. I fell for you that night we started to marathon Harry Potter. You told me I was a snuggler, remember? I actually knew about that but at the time, I thought it had been you snuggling me instead. I woke up before you but couldn't bring myself to get up and disturb you. I love you, Harm. Simple as that. I never thought you would wait around for me and I'm sorry you thought of it that way. I wanted to focus on school, get it out of the way, so I could have a good job and not only do what I wanted to do in life, but make you proud as well. I had plans but we broke up then I moved away. I didn't want to be in New York after that. It was too hard. I wasn't there enough for you then, but after college what happened? We talked more. I was around more, despite being across the pond. There's a reason for that. I was trying, so hard that I subconsciously ended up with Emily for the wrong reasons. She just wasn't you. They aren't only words. Take a look outside. I'll be waiting.

We’re really doing this right now? I posted that picture because you are and have always been attractive. I wanted to joke and kid around with my best friend. But here you go asking me to answer questions that have no answer! I’m not talking about fighting, I’m talking about rehashing feelings that need to stay buried. We’re not going to hop back in that boat because if it didn’t work the first time, why would it work a second time? Why we broke up? Joe, you never had any time for me when we left Ohio! It was either you not talking to me for weeks on end, or texting me every second of everyday. Emily can kiss my ass. She was always pretentious and always tried to snub me at any chance she could get. I really don’t know what you saw in her. 

I guess we are. I didn't get the joke but thanks for that. I don't like jokes about what we had together, what we have together. Why do they need to stay buried? It's obvious that we still like each other, despite what led to the breakup. I still care about you and Aud, more than work. Why wouldn't it work a second time? We're much better off and prepared this time around; we know our faults and definitely know mine. We could work on it. I was busy with school and I agree that I focused too much on one thing at a time, but I've learned from it. I've got my education and now I have a job. I'm sorry if my texts burdened you but the time I spent on education, not texting you, made me only want to talk to you more so that's why you ended up with so many texts from me when I got away from college for a bit. I never forgot about you when I focused on education, even if it did seem that way. Maybe the only reason I was with her in the first place was because she reminded me of you. I don't care how shite that sounds. She wasn't a replacement, not at all. I only noticed it after a few weeks and then everything clicked. Ever stop and think what would have happened if we'd stayed together? Living in New York together. We could have been together and I wouldn't have focused so much on one thing at a time because I could see you every day, have breakfast with you every day, possibly wake up beside you every day, and you could remind me not to be such an ass whenever you wanted.

Why else would you post that picture then? If you didn't want to talk about this, that is. What? Fighting? No. We hardly fought. You? Yes, well... both break ups actually. Well... one of them was me, wasn't it? I can't remember now. It was too long ago. Emily broke up with me because she was jealous of you, but I'm sure I've told you that already. She didn't like that we talked so much and I guess it was my fault too. I didn't pay enough attention to her, in favor of talking with you on Skype or asking how you and Aud were doing. Sugar was another story. You brought us together; you also brought us apart. I think it was she who broke up with me because of you. It wasn't jealousy if I'm remembering correctly; we weren't right for each other.
