Prompt by Harmony Daily Prompts on Twitter: say something
"Mione?"
pin.it
Hermione stood catatonic on the floor of Twelve Grimmauld Place, bottle of wine frozen in hand.
The world seemed to slow down to a halt. The candlelight stopped dancing on the dinner table. The swish of curtains stopped in midair. Her muscles froze and her brain started working.
It was only Harry who's moving at this point.
"Oh Godric, please say something," he said desperately. The man was trembling. He wiped his palms on his jeans. He took a tiny step forward towards Hermione, then another one back. He was stuck in this dance of wanting to go to her but not knowing whether she'd be repulsed at his touch for a minute.
What was Hermione supposed to say?
Something idiotic like, "Yes Harry, I have been in love with you too and I want us to stop this ridiculous arrangement of dinner and a good fuck while pretending to not have feelings for you"?
That seemed idiotic.
Harry rubbed his palms all over his face.
"I've ruined it. I've ruined it, haven't I? You don't feel the same way?" He nodded maniacally, and then started pacing all around the living room. "That's fine, that's fine. We can pretend like I didn't say anything. Just. Please, Mione. I don't want to lose you. Tell me I'm not about to lose you."
For a blip, a life without Harry flashed before Hermione's eyes. It was disgusting. Unbearable. She didn't want it.
But what if they failed at this? What if she too stopped pretending and gave in to the thing beating behind her ribcage whenever she saw him out of the corner of her eye, and then they end up losing everything over something ridiculous like uncapped toothpaste or towels on the floor?
Oh God. She was already thinking about moving in with him.
There was no going back.
"I can—I can leave," Harry offered. "I'll go to Ron and Luna's. You can stay here, and do...whatever you have to do. Just owl them when you're ready to leave. Feel free to stay the night!" He threw his arms in the air and turned towards the Floo.
In a flash, the sense flooded back to Hermione, like cool water rushing through her body.
Was she really about to do this? Were they really about to do this? Put everything on the line and give whatever this was between them a proper try?
"Harry," she managed to croak before Harry could put his fingers in the Floo powder. He turned around. Far too quickly—she couldn't imagine it would have been comfortable. "I—I think I'm in love with you too."
Immediately, far too quickly, he crossed the room back to her and crashed his mouth against hers. Hermione reciprocated the action far too eagerly, her hands traveling all over his back. They'd done this before, multiple times, but with the last barrier finally overcome, they poured everything into this one kiss that would change their lives for the better.
I would like to submit a fanfic I wrote to your page, I saw it suggest I get a banner or I could ask you for one? I was just inquiring about that process, pretty new to tumblr XD

Hi! I was wondering, for someone who hasn't really read any H/Hr fanfiction, could you recommend a couple to start? Preferably a romance developing from friendship, no Ron bashing, well written, maybe Harry stays at Hermiones for the summer if you can? No pressure but thank you xo
OH this is so specific I love it! I have just the fic for you.
The List by Hermione_Crookshanks
Rating: PG-13, Words: 55031
AU. After everyone in the school accused them of going out, they (or rather Harry) decided to keep a list. The List named everyone who thinks they're a couple. In other words, all of Hogwarts. Now Harry and Hermione have to prove that they're just friends, all the while resisting their fellow students attempts to set them up. The only problem is, even they’re starting to wonder if their names belong on The List…
Have fun!!
I absolutely love fanfiction. Aside from writing my own, I love reading it, too! Here are only some of my favorites.
The list looks rough right now, but this post is going to keep improving as I add more.
If, based on anything from this list, there's a fic you recommend, feel free to send it to my ask box!

You know what, Hermione? I’m never going to be able to win you over with words. You know how I want to win you over? I want to vanish whatever you’re wearing and look at you standing naked in my hallway.

Love and Other Historical Accidents by PacificRimbaud

Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy never intended to blow up their life's work, but that's rather what they've gone and done. Now they're trapped 200 years in the past, with a broken Time Turner, a missing snuff box, a handful of overly-eligible daughters, and a House-elf in a cable knit cardigan. It will require the combined power of their keen intellects to get them home, if they'd stop arguing long enough to use them.
As it turns out, history is just one damned accident after another.

Once More, With Feeling by wetpretzel

As she looked around her living room - at the green velvet ottoman she didn't remember purchasing, the 14th century Wizarding texts on her bookshelf, the hideous and obnoxiously ostentatious grandfather clock that could only belong to a Malfoy - she pictured the toothbrush next to hers on her bathroom counter, the old Slytherin quidditch jersey she regularly tripped over in her bedroom, and the mint chocolate chip ice cream in her freezer - a flavour she abhorred, but that a particular, pale, pointy faced aristocrat sat across from her had a tragic fondness for.
Her chest burning, as if she drank a barrel of bubotuber pus, Hermione turned to him with narrowed, accusing eyes. "Malfoy...are we dating?"
If there's one thing Hermione Granger knows, it's that she simply doesn't have time to date. Draco decides to date her, anyway.
The World of Wait and Hope by mightbewriting

Summary from Part 1: Wait and Hope
“Harry,” Hermione began, voice very controlled, but she could feel the blade of panic slicing at her vocal cords. “Why was Draco Malfoy just screaming bloody murder about his,” and the word almost strangled her as she said it, “wife?”
Harry's green eyes blew wide. Healer Lucas pinched the bridge of her nose, clearly displeased with the recent series of events.
“He was referring to you, my dear,” she said. “That was the other question you got wrong. Your name is Hermione Jean Granger-Malfoy.”
Hermione had to be sedated again.
