This come from a very privileged life but everyone who can should try and build a support network, with friend, family, professionals and/or work people.

When I’m decompressing from life, the universe, people and everything….

•I’m fortunate enough that with most of my friends I don’t need to say anything this time of not communicating is simply accepted. Built from previous history and taking the time to be honest and explain myself.

•with my work I ignore it all, unless is an emergency. It took me too long to build these boundaries and yours have to be right for you, not me.

•my family can instinctively tell to some extent and there is never any pressure there. Depending on my mental health I go to them to put myself back together as me again. This happen less as I’ve grown and I do it more with my chosen family or alone now too.

I feel as an important disclaimer I should say that I do this more often now rather than less and am a better person for it. Sometimes it take me an hour sometimes it take me a fortnight it import to make that time for you if you can though.

And then when I feel more ready again I slowly work back into it I don’t the pick up all lines of communication again, I ease into it bit by bit to prevent another shut down as best as possible. Sometimes this works sometime it does not.
