A night at de Dépendance

Salon de Dépendance, where different sides come together. Different sides to a story, an experience, an evening at de Dépendance. The salon gathers, engages, fascinates, inspires and leaves the visitor with new sophistication. This is represented by this design. Focusing on the dimensions, composition and positioning of the space to express intimacy but also the freedom to choose the level of intimacy. Therefore, it reflects the city and its dynamics, its freedom and niches which have not been explored by each visitor, differentiation within the users and the use. The central element represents these principles, by its functionality and bold and soft statement at the same time. Bold by its colours and dimensions, soft by its use and materiality, drawing the users to it and offering a perspective from which the space can be experienced. This is the element of enclosure.

Spaces of intimacy during a larger event //

this is based upon previous research on the functioning of salons and debates/discussions. This offers groups of about 120 people to be seated in the same space at the same event in a more compressed/intimate setting, creating more chances for interaction and connection. 

Within the space, there is freedom to close off smaller spaces as well.
