Riding a motorcycle in the rain was terrible. And goodness, was it pouring outside. Hiccup had been on his way home from work, which at the time had been around 6:00, with a clear sky and a nice breeze, and he had thought Today seems like a good day for some joyriding.
An hour into this joyriding, the sky had turned an awful color of black, and the wind had become angry if nothing else.
When the rain actually started pouring, Hiccup had found his way into the busy streets of New York, and by the time he approached the very inviting mansion looking building, he was soaked all the way to his underwear, and basically walking his bike. There was no way he could ride with the rain coming down in sheets.
Once he got close enough to the building, he saw that it was actually some sort of private school, which meant they would probably at least let him dry off in the lobby or call his dad or something other than walk home.
He did the logical thing. He propped his bike up near the front of the school, and pulled the door open, only to be nearly knocked back by the overwhelming stench of alcohol, and the pounding of loud music. Like any almost adult, he was curious.
He stepped inside, shook some of the water out of his hair, and began to pace through the crowd, watching everyone with a sense of wonder. This had to have been the wildest thing he had ever seen.
During his amazed pacing, someone plopped a drink in his hand, which he only sniffed quizzically. He managed to only bump into three people before making it to the other side of the room. He could just barely make out a man with silver hair in the dim light. He hadn’t realized he was in talking proximity with the man until he spoke up.
Hiccup was almost startled. But mainly, he was fascinated.
“Yes, very much enjoying. Um, what kind of party is this, exactly?”
