Sometimes I just get reminded how mature Fromsoft PvP community actually is compared to the rest of the playerbase. Sure, there is a cringe dumbass once in a while, but those guys don't stick to the game the same way your average tryhard does. Most of the salt and toxicity actually comes from the casual playerbase that doesn't get into the game too deeply.
A cooper gets outplayed in an invasion and suddenly feels the need to cry about how bad PvP is, how all invaders are assholes, how PvP players ruin the game, etc. Of course, it also doesn't help that Reddit and Twitter are specifically designed to amplify negativity.
And PvP players and invaders specifically are just.. Kinda chill about it. Like sure, there is an asshole once in a while but in general these players tend to understand the nuance and complexities of any given discussion about the game's balance, and in general it just feels better to interact with them in the game itself.
Radahn set wearing WiFi warrior with 2 overlevelled phantoms up his ass is 10x more likely to t-bag you than a guy doing a solo Taunter's Tongue run with powerstanced lances, even though the latter is much more likely to obliterate you.
I think it's just because of how hard invasions are. It's just the kind of gameplay that keeps you humble. It attracts a certain type of person who isn't as prone to having brain worms about interacting with people online.
I guess what I'm trying to say is.. Evil red people are actually kinda chill.
