  “WHERE. IS. SHE?”

His voice echoed, loudly, demanding to know where his daughter was. His aura flickered with pale-golden hues, and his eyes were no longer the soft black, but of clear cerulean. There was a deep anger in his heart for those that wanted to do his friends and family and harm, but more importantly was there this feeling of impending doom. He always had this shred of doubt that he just was not good enough for any of them, much less to protect them. It had been proven time and time again that he would inevitably mess up, and cause almost irreparable damage to everyone around him.

A slip of its ki - that hellish conglomerate of souls that were never meant to be one - just another tease. Just an iota of a hint that something was awry, the doubt seeping into the heart, that perhaps a fairytale ending, however flawed, really was too good to be true. Live by the sword, die by the sword, after all...

The cold wind slid off its carapace as silent as death - it had been watching over the members of the Son family for some time since its rebirth, gathering new knowledge, new data. Pride of lesser beings would dictate it must childishly pursue revenge with its proverbial guns blazing, but that was a dish best served cold enough to burn. . .

"Relax..." came 1 to 1 mock of Piccolo's voice, but something was wrong.

"There's been no threat to Earth in years. Keep pushing yourself like that..." bit by bit falling apart, till it reached its own chalkboard tones.

Revenge was best served cold, indeed, yet it stepped just out of the shadow of the trees all the same, eyes reflecting the light of the exhausting sun the same as a starving animal. There was nothing wrong with just a little self-indulgence from time to time, was there?

Like a bolt of lightning did his senses snap to and pinpoint in the right direction where he felt this presence. At first the trickery of hearing his old mentor, Piccolo, almost did fool him. Though that twist in his stomach made him listen closer, until the real voice was heard and this caused him to stand.

Fear struck through him, similar to a small handful of snow slipping underneath your jacket's cover, and he looked over to the shadows. That pair off sinister eyes watching did so remind him of those nightmares he used to have, and still somewhat did have to this day; of a familiar monster causing problems for the world. Those tales that Trunks had told him, and all of this being a possible reality were crashing down on him.

"You...!" Gohan was struggling to find his words, and there was no comfort in seeing this one with this specific form. His mind was already trying to play years of catch-up; attempting to come to conclusions and think of all the possible solutions. "You should be dead, Cell! I was sure of it! How are you still alive?!" He wondered if he should power up, but this fear was gripping him like a impenetrable vice.

Starter for Cell! | Muse: Gohan

"Man... It doesn't matter what I do. I can't shake this feeling..."

Gohan had been practicing a different set of combinations, with fancy flourishes and several high kicks, over and over. He took a little break, sitting by some tree and enjoying the evening air that was starting to stir up.

The sun began it's slow descent past the highest leaves, and this gnawing sensation could not cease with it's insistent annoyance. It was as if a cold line of iced-water was running down his spinal cord, and it had been like that for several months, on and off at various points throughout the day.

This was worrisome, but he ignored it as much he could, and instead tried to focus on how his heart didn't want to stop pulsing with a frantic beat. The body knew something was wrong, but his mind was denying everything about it.
