Reposting vs. Reblogging

I know a lot of you are confused about these words because they look alike and there has been some mixup when I say “DO NOT REPOST” and you assume I mean reblog. I do not I promise.

Reblogging: using the “reblog” button and posting to your blog. The source is in place and anyone looking for the original post is easily linked back to the op. This is what you should always do. Reblogging is what most of us make gifs/graphics/drabbles for. You are doing it right.

Reposting: Saving the work or copying the work and pasting/loading it into a brand new post to where it looks like you are the original poster of the content. This is wrong, fucked up and against tumblr policy. This is what bad people do and you are not a bad person. Do not do this, okay? 

You’re too lovely to need to steal from others to shine! Be yourself and live by this motto: IF YOU DIDN’T MAKE IT, DON’T POST IT.
