@hiddendevotee
Today is Rare Disease Day.
OI (Osteogenesis Imperfecta) is a rare genetic disease/disorder that just means that my bones are brittle. There are different types of OI, some bones are long and thin, some are short and thicker (dat me!), and each type usually comes with it’s own set of unique deformities and health conditions that vary per person (the worst of them usually being respiratory problems, and cardiac problems).
Somehow, I’ve been fortunate enough that my OI didn’t come with really any health conditions for me, aside from the brittle bones themselves.
You can learn more about Osteogenesis Imperfecta here, and check out my video about my life with it here!
Please support Rare Disease Day, because it is SO important to educate the masses on the lesser known disabilities, and by doing so we can support those who live with them, as well as raise funds for research.
I have OI, but I will NEVER let that stop me from doing whatever the Hell I want. It just means I might have to do it a little differently!
