Chocobo rental machines can be found all over Lucis. If you have enough gill you can rent a chocobo for up to 7 days at a time, but I'm not exactly sure how the machine works because the buttons only go up to 4. All images copyright Square Enix Co. Ltd.
Final Fantasy XV still continues to surprise me with the incredible level of detail. When Prompto takes a selfie during a Big Jump in the Regalia Type-D the camera flashes! I must have photographed this animation a hundred times and I've never seen it flash before.

Visiting Steyliff Grove I noticed a couple of things. Reaper's scythes have a really cool skull design on the blade. Also, skeletons give really good hugs. Although I'm not sure Noctis would agree! All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.

In my last post about Sania Yeagre's empty notebook you may have noticed a new magazine on the table and I thought I'd better explain myself. I make retexture mods for fun and I publish some of them on Curseforge. A few weeks ago I was looking at the magazine files and thought if Coctura can have her own magazine, Coctura's Kitchen, they why can't Cindy Aurum? So I made one for her. It seemed like the kind of thing the boys would enjoy reading, especially Prompto. The mod isn't quite finished yet but if people want it I'll be happy to publish it.

When we meet Sania at Alstor Slough Coernix Station she is busy studying her research notes but what has she been writing about in that book of hers? Absolutely nothing! The pages are fresh and clean. Not a single mark on them. The book is also upside down. The gap you usually find at the top of the page is at the bottom. The Galdin Quay cat sure is a fussy eater. He runs for the hills when Noctis gives him a freshly caught trevally but Coctura know what he likes to eat. She makes him a special meal that looks suspiciously like Ignis's Fisherman's Favourite Paella recipe, right down to the Coleman branded dish. All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.
Ever wondered what an Oracle Ascension coin looked like? Ardyn throws one at Noctis the first time he visits Galdin Quay and I managed to photograph it with Ansel. On one side there is an image of a woman in profile wearing a cloth head covering, presumably a past Oracle. On the other side are three sylleblossoms tied with a ribbon and the word Tenebrae. The coin looks tiny in Gladio's hand and it has no monetary value, outside of trading with the man in Altissia, but it's very pretty nonetheless. All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.

Have you ever noticed the birds circling high above Alstor Slough? I wanted to know what they were so I checked them out with Ansel.

I was taking photographs from behind the shelves in a gas station when I noticed this stamp on the back of the potion bottle. I thought it kinda looked like a chocobo so I went and had a look at the game files to get a better look. On the elixir texture you can just make out the word chocobo. I wonder why they put the stamp there. I hope the potions aren't made from chocobos! All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.
I noticed today that the caravan has Michelin tyres. The name is a mirror image in the game but if I flip the image and enhance it then you can clearly read the word "MICHELIN" on the tyre wall. Is this yet another real world product placement or simply coincidental? (Please ignore the pink wheels. I was using my Pride of Lucis Caravan mod)

There are many interesting architectural and decorative styles used in Final Fantasy XV and on a recent visit to Pitioss Ruins I became fascinated with this tile pattern on the inside the giant yellow rotating globe.
The colours and textures remind me of ancient carpets or tapestries but the surface reflects the light of Noctis's flashlight. The symbolism is strong with two masked faces with halos, one light and one dark, mirror images of each other, surrounded by flowers and other patterns. For over a decade the use of leaded fuel in road vehicles has been banned in every country in the world, but Lucis is a little behind the times. When Noctis refuels the Regalia the sign on the pump says, "Contains lead (tetraethyl) and is to be used as motor fuel only. Not for cleaning or any other use. Avoid spilling." I love how mods can show us little details we may never normally have seen. I was doing a retexture of Noctis as a young boy when I noticed this skull pattern on the back of his shoes. It's such a cute detail. I want shoes like that! All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd.
I found another fascinating detail today. If you look closely at the polished stone in the circlet of the main statue in the royal tomb you can see the whole room reflected it in. All images copyright Square Enix Co Ltd
I have to admit when I found this it kind of blew my mind. The clock in the Regalia keeps the right time. Someone took the trouble to programme it so whatever time of day it is for the bros, the clock is correct. It's the little details like this that really make this game special.
