Homecoming
Hideto senses must have also been off because he did not expect his shadow to be as alert as he was as he touched his lover’s skin. He knew his coolness could be alarming, but not as much to the male that had held him more times than he could even remember. That was saying a lot for someone who rarely forgot anything. He did hear his lover’s words, but for the briefest of moments he did not say a thing. He just allowed the warm fingers to hold his eyes as he quickly scanned the full length of the male that lay before him. He seemed tired, but whole. That was a good thing.
A soft chuckle left his lips. "I’ve just arrived,“ he admitted, hand raising the one that held his own so tenderly and pressed a gentle kiss to it. "You are the surprise my dear, and I assure you that I am no illusion. I would think I shall be the one imagining you here,” he breathed.
It had been quite awhile since they’d crossed paths like it always had been. Every tie he thought maybe they were somehow managing to merge together the wind and destiny seemed to say otherwise. Hideto didn’t think he’d see the male for another decade or so. That school had a firm hold on Camui, and he as unsure if it would ever release him in the way he needed him to be released.
“What brings you here, dearest?” he questioned. “Or is that a question for tomorrow?”
It was almost surreal. Like the fairytales where two lovers cross paths because it is pure destiny that leads them together. Seeing his dearest love, now that he opened his eyes, was an immediate prod to his heart to beat faster. This was real, and it was perfect. The sound of Hideto’s chuckling voice made him smile in turn, unable to hold it back. He barely felt the kiss that was pressed to his hand because he was still enjoying the surprise of the unintentional meeting.
“No, you would not be.” Gackt looked his other half steadily even though his eyes were beginning to take on a tender shine. “You never appear this real to me when I am half-mad with delusion.” A pause, followed by an amused question. “Do you imagine me to be around often?”
With simple grace even though he showed signs of physical weariness, the shadow shifted on the sofa so that he was sitting now. His hand never released its grasp on his love, however. There was silence as he considered the question, and spoke as though he hadn’t thought about the reason why himself. “I was tired. Tired of everything. My whole being longed to return home.” Gackt tugged on the vampire’s hand then, urging him to come closer. “To see you here makes my heart swell. I missed you.”

Did he imagine Camui here often? That was a good question for Hideto. If he had to think about it honestly he would have to say yes. He always missed his love terrible when he wasn't around. There was always a small ache in his heart no matter the company that he kept. In the moments that he was extremely lonely and needed conversations and in the moments he needed his sometimes insatiable carnal desires met, he indeed missed the one male who could complete him in all fronts. Even his wandering spirit had a home, and after a few years apart once again it was staring back at him with dark eyes.
With that small tug, he settled his small frame on the shadow's lap, his nose pressed against the crook of the male's neck to breathe him in. It was affirmation his eyes that his dearest was actually hearing even though they'd just confirmed such things. It just had been such a long while since he'd breathed in this heavenly scent. "I've missed you, love," he smiled. "Especially in this home," he continued catching the male's gaze.
"I"ve imagined you coming home often, but I also had to stop doing it as well. We've both have lives outside of each other. Mates, lovers, and everything in between," he hummed. "And my selfish nature still has to accept that from time to time," he admitted with a sweet chuckle. "So like always as much as I wish for your presence always. I respect both our choices."
