HOUSE OF THE DRAGON 1.05 | ‘We Light The Way’
Gone Girl (2014) dir. David Fincher
film commentaries are actually the greatest
I just think it's funny how men can idolize characters like patrick bateman and joker and hail these movies as wonderful works of art and we're just meant to accept it. But when women do the same with, lets say, Gone Girl, its a problem.
There are tons of movies that depict violence against women by men and we as women have been forced to just be okay w/ that and every now again we'll get a movie that does the opposite and these babies will swear up n down its the scariest thing they've ever seen.
Cant tell you how many men I've talked to who were so horrified by Jennifer's Body and for what? Bc she's killing boys? Imagine how tired WE are for having to see the opposite consistently for years.
Men get to praise these fictional killers all they want n say its just fiction n we arent meant to be bothered by it but women will do the same n suddenly its "how can you condone her actions? Thats horrifying and says so much about you" pee pee poo poo shut UP.
Men have become so desensitized to senseless violence done by men in movies. Especially against women. Its art to them, but movies like Gone Girl and Jennifer's Body are horrific and something women shouldnt praise bc for once men r on the receiving end of it n thats despicable

favorite clannibal quotes (2/?) ↳ hannibal by thomas harris
I’m rewatching Silence of the Lambs and all I can think the entire time is how the only man who didnt treat Clarice Starling like a piece of meat was a fucking cannibal.
he’s not wrong

A favorite Hannibal x Clarice moment that I love to think about is when Hannibal gave Clarice his towel.
He doesn’t have many possessions and specifically at the time he had no possessions at all because Chilton stripped his cell of everything, including the toilet seat. He pretty much gave her the only thing he had besides the clothes off his body. I go back and forth on if she gave it back immediately or if she took it home to wash and then bring back. Either way it would smell like her now and we all know how sensitive he is to smells.
In the movie when Chilton is in Hannibal’s cell gloating about the false deal from the Senator, there is a towel on Hannibal’s cot.
I like to think it’s the one Clarice used and he’s been using it as a pillow and falling asleep each night with the smell of Clarice, bringing him a little bit of peace. Perhaps even helping with his own nightmares.
Dr. Lecter and Clarice Starling speak Italian a lot at mealtimes; she finds a curious freedom in the visual nuances of the language. Sometimes our couple dances at dinnertime. Sometimes they do not finish dinner. Sex is a splendid structure they add to every day.

There are lines in the Hannibal 2001 script that really enjoy.
