Moving Orrie to my multi at starlightspoken
In a sort of ācompanion verseā where Orlaith doesnāt become a Warden, she would likely be found somewhere near a town or village. Maybe the Warden hears whispers about a ghost or monster supposedly lurking, stealing food from houses or smoking sheds at night. Maybe the Warden is asked to investigate. And they find a scrawny kid with ratty hair and wild, eerie eyes, and a massive warhound who only obeys her.
Thinking about āand I know things now, many valuable things, that I hadnāt known beforeā
I wanted to join the āmisspellings of higheverā club and I am not ashamed to admit it.
A big part of Orlaithās arc would be unlearning/growing past her un-admitted resentment towards her sisters (because Elethea and Elissa are both canon in my heart now). Orlaith feels very isolated from her family for various little reasons (Sheās the youngest, sheās the āplainā one, her name doesnāt start with an E like her mother and sisters, even her dog being the smallest of the bunch would feel like a slight from the universe to her) and I think a big part of her character development would be learning that she isnāt a āproper ladyā and thatās okay.
Pippa and Nan on the dash talking about Mabari so Iām here to say that Orlaithās Mabari, Bogdi, is probably slightly smaller that Elethea and Elissaās dogs, but still massive.
After the Blight, Orlaith continues to wear āmenās clothesā, though she eventually modifies her fashion to be slightly more feminine. Some people imitate her, which Orlaith doesnāt understand.
Imagining Howe finding out that Bryce and Eleanor's daughters survived the attack and became Grey Wardens, and lowkey pissing himself
Origins but its just the companions holding Orlaith back from doing violence by the scruff of her neck like an angry kitten
Anyway, Orlaith settles at Soldier's Peak and makes a quiet little community there post-Blight.
Keeping Up With The Couslands
I'm just thinking about the "lady and knight" ship aesthetic but Orlaith is the knight and Leliana is the lady.
I have decided that, in-universe of the main canon for this blog, Orlaith romances Leliana.
If it was possible to be polyamorous in Origins, Orlaith would be.
If I ever get D+ again and am able to watch the show my faceclaim is in, it's over for you bitches.
Pippa mentioned Elissa's temper, so allow me to contribute: Orlaith definitely has one, and she becomes even more prone to outbursts after the attack on Castle Cousland and the Battle of Ostagar, due to all the trauma she's endured. Gradually learning to control her temper would be part of her canon arc, if she had one.
āĀ weĀ shouldĀ leaveĀ thisĀ place.Ā ā
Orlaith Cousland is no coward, but she likes to think of herself as clever. She trusts her instincts, and, more than that, she trusts her sisters. She was the youngest, the unruly pup of the family, and she was accustomed to following the lead of her elder sisters. ( As much as all of them had bickered, at home, their father had always counseled them to get along. When you have nothing else, my girls, you will still have your family ).
So she nods, hovering close to Elissa's side, one hand resting on the pommel of her shortsword. āĀ I don't like the feel of being watched when I cannot see what watches me. ā
