A Quarrel || Poppet and Sarah Elizabeth
Poppet sighed. Liz was getting herself in too deep. Edmund was  all about the rush of life, and love? She wasnât sure the man who lived his life in search of the next thrill was even quite capable of that.Â
Lies, on the other hand, she was sure he was capable of those.Â
âLizzy, please, listen to me,â she began, drawing backward just a bit to look Liz in the eye. âOffering to sleep with you, thatâs not love, thatâs him letting himself being convinced to give in to his desires. Thatâs lust, lovey, thatâs a thrill. Exciting, but itâs just part of his game. He dances through life, flying from one woman to the next like weâre all justâŠflowers and heâs a little bee, collecting kisses and memories and secrets.â She shook her head, âBees donât stay on flowers for long, and you may love him, Iâm not one to deny your feelings, but he only wants a rush. Just a  little delight.âÂ
"I can take care of myself!" She said while pushing her friend back. Poppet didn't know, she didn't understand them. She didn't understand her. "Poppet listen to me, I love him. At least, at least I think I do. Please stop this. He's not courting me, he's not asking me to marry him. For the time being, we're just being us. Let me happy, please, for all I know he could be gone tomorrow, so just let me have today."Â
She swallowed hard and looked up at her friend. "You don't know how badly I need today Poppet. I need him, I need him like you need your cats. I need him like you need your books. Why can't you understand?"
