grow with me in all the ways that it hurts. not, daisies nestling fertilized soil. but dandelions, pushing, cracking, thick pavement, clawing, rising, taking any chances, untended, overflowing left alone. careless hands gripping tearing roots, knowing we’re not welcome. weeds too abundant, blooming, returning every time. expanding, ribs breaking, pulling skin, ripping ourselves apart, until there’s no longer flesh, thoughts, barely escaping, crushing, constraining walls known as our bodies.
