The science lab is on fire this afternoon as students get creative with their physics experiments. Utilizing three different types of metal wire, wax shavings and an open flame, students in Tobin Peyton-Levine’s Thermal Physics block attempt to determine which type of metal conducts heat the fastest. This class focuses on the basics of thermodynamics and prepares students for higher level thought and discovery by investigating the properties of heat, cooling, energy and temperature.

Grade 10 Students in Laura Warden's Surveying & Trigonometry class engage in a hands-on project with a practical use of trigonometry. The sophomores measure the perimeter of the HMS oval using transits, tripods, and measuring tapes, as well as the location of its landmarks. After collecting the data, students return to the classroom to construct precise maps of the space from the data.
