AU EVENT 01: College AU — June 18–19

after a lot of interest in the survey, we’re officially kicking things off with a college au for two days! since this is our first au event, here are some loose guidelines and what to expect:

this is completely non-canon. nothing that happens during the au event will impact regular rp, canon relationships, or ongoing plots. portray your muse however you’d like.

canon rp connections are not required. keep them if you want, change them if you want, ignore them entirely if you want. this is your chance to experiment and get creative.

feel free to post a quick blurb about your muse’s au version (major, dorm situation, job, vibes, etc.) if you’d like, but we’d love to learn about characters mostly through interactions on the dash. feel free to surprise us!

we know many of you have multiple characters, so please don’t feel pressured to do them all. we’d just love to see everyone give the au a try with at least one muse.

push it for two days. seriously. because this isn’t canon, we really encourage everyone to lean into the fun and take chances you normally wouldn’t.

once the event wraps up, the au stays in the au! we will have posts queued so everyone knows exactly when it starts and ends. if you’d like, your muse can joke about having a “weird dream” or something similar, but nothing should carry over in a way that alters regular rp reality.

our first au event has officially begun! from now until approximately 7pm cst on friday, everything on the dash is taking place in our college au.

skip class. pull an all-nighter. join a frat. start drama. fall in love. fail an exam. become a campus legend. whatever you decide, have fun with it and don't be afraid to get a little messy. none of it is canon, so now is the time to experiment and get creative. have fun!

we’re planning our first au event! we have to shoutout @thcangel for bringing this idea to the table and also chatting with us. we’re very excited for what we have planned!

before the first au event takes place, we’ll post some simple guidelines and expectations so everyone is on the same page going into it. for now, just know that au events will only take place for ~2 days so they don’t completely throw off regular rp happenings. this is an alternate universe, completely not canon, so the things that happen do not affect regular rp or connections at all. it’s a chance to go wild with creativity. it should be fun!

here is a poll with our favorite ideas so far to get us started. if there isn’t a clear winner, we may do a second poll to narrow it down and if you have another au idea, drop it below!

we’re setting sail for a three-day cruise to hawaii. whether you’re here to relax, explore, or make questionable decisions, this is your chance to step away from everything and enjoy the ride.

step away from the ring and into the woods! for two days, we’re headed to the sherwood forest faire. whether you lean into the theme or just enjoy the atmosphere, this is a chance to relax, explore, and get a little out of character.

the faire is fully open to explore: winding paths, market stalls, live performances, food, drinks, and plenty of opportunities for interaction.

if you’d like to get into the spirit, feel free to dress the part; knights, rogues, nobles, fairies, pirates, or anything in between.

the rose exchange has officially begun! you may now start sending out your anons. each character is limited to three roses total, so make them count. you can send your rose as: 🌹 + a message (optional)

in rp time, the event officially begins at 6pm for full evening vibes at the metropolitan opera house. however, interactions at the event may begin at 3pm cst to give everyone plenty of time to write and enjoy the night.

remember, our event is this thursday and there will be a rose exchange! each character is given three roses to anonymously send to others with a message (it can be as long or short as you would like). we will make a post when everyone can begin sending their roses on thursday, but begin planning now so you can make your three count! 🌹

ROSES AT THE MET the metropolitan opera house • feb 12

for valentine’s day, we’re hosting an evening at the metropolitan opera house — one of the most iconic and historic venues in the united states. the marble halls, velvet balconies, and candlelit lobby set the scene for a night focused on romance. expect string quartets, champagne, formal attire, and plenty of opportunities for soft moments, confessions, chance encounters, and dramatic interactions.

as part of the event, there will be an anonymous rose exchange. on the day of the event, a separate post will go up where participants can begin sending anonymous roses to other characters. each character is limited to three roses total, so choose carefully. roses may include a short message or note, and can be romantic or platonic.

attire for the event is formal / black tie (gowns, suits, tuxes, vintage or romantic looks all fit the theme). everyone is welcome to share outfit or aesthetic inspiration for their muses on the dash leading up to the event.

because para threads take time, event interactions are welcome to begin in the days leading up to february 12. scenes may also continue after the event date if needed. just tag them as being backdated so everyone can keep track!

A few things about events:

After running a few events of different lengths on different days, we’ve noticed that our weekday events get the most activity. Because of that, we’ll be planning most future events on weekdays moving forward.
