gaaaaaah. you know, i'd been rotating this for a while. i really liked hima. i thought the idea of having an omori au ask blog was fun at the time. i really wanted to pick it back up eventually. but it's been four years, and at this point i think it's time to just. at least give some closure for it. similarly to the post i made for kina, i'll be sharing all of the old concept art i can find in my gallery in somewhat chronological order, along with some more details about the au that i can recall from my admittedly not very good memory. sorry for another omori jumpscare to my followers jdbfjdb

Listen I know the top left doodles in the first picture are shitposty but legitimately this is where it all started. Originally, Hima was going to be an omari AU with Mari/Vonde as the primary POV, but we ended up changing plans along the way.
Instead, we'd decided to make it an omari au but from Basil's perspective, with him having a headspace instead of Mari. We did keep that bottom right Something design though.
probably the biggest obstacle we had to face in regards to the askblog was... we had the start and the end, but not the middle. Especially when it came to the dream world. which, you know, is a big problem when you're planning to go through the entire story through askblog format. we had some stuff written down, but not enough to formulate anything around it.
Bread actually wrote a few drabbles for some of the things in the timeline, such as the first day, the lake scene, and the catastrophes. We'd actually written that last one out from different perspectives, with Bread writing from Basil's POV while I wrote from Mari's.
I was very much looking forward to the end. i was way ahead of myself.
In my mind's eye, I always envisioned the AU ending with a bad end branch, in that Basil would fizzle out and Hima would remain. It was not going to be a happy ending whatsoever and it was extremely self indulgent as I was going through it mentally at the time, which was evident with EfaE's creation a few months later dhfjsgfs
a few more miscellaneous doodles and concepts from when i'd switched to procreate, along with hima's old tupper icon and some sprite edits i'd made for him and mari
And here, concepts for what the next section of the askblog would've looked like, along with redesigns for the dream world cast. the plan, compared to the original concepts we had, was to do something more 'grounded' when it came to headspace's adventures compared to canon's, which i wanted to reflect with the artstyle. But it was an artstyle i didn't fully have the motivation to follow through with, as much as I liked the vision- it definitely influenced my want to work on the blog, and the constant shifting fixations didn't help either.
Those were the last drawings I'd made for Hima in 2023, and then it just. Never happened. I wanted to get back to it at one point or another, but I feel like the moment has passed for me. I have other projects I want to work on, other things I want to look into, and just not the right energy to come back to Hima. Hopefully these help to sate the itch to find out what the AU was about? Apologies if you were looking forward to the blog's revival.
since im FINALLY done studying for now, and my 20th birthday is coming up soon, i wanted to try and do something different this time around!!

He pats himself, a tiny smile on his face. "I have these on me just in case! The plants can get a little rowdy out there. Don't worry, I know how to use them!"
"...Wait, that means-" The blonde begins gaining some yellow tints after his realization, and-
The young boy stands up to try and locate the source of the sound. There's a weird mass some distance away.
"O... Okay?" He replies, clearly confused.

"I think..?" HIMA hums.
The Red Hands slither beside him as he makes his way to the mysterious object, making some comments to each other and themselves.

Once he's close enough, the boy crouches down to properly tell. HIMA lets out an 'Oh!', realizing the mystery item was one of his treasured belongings — his MELON SHEARS.
The MELON SHEARS are some garden shears with a watermelon-deco on its handles. They look really well kept!
"I was wondering where these were!" He chimes, some relief laced in his tone.
hey HIMA, whats that tissue box for? do you have allergies?

In the corner, a lonely tissue box lay, filled to the brim with tissues ready to be plucked and used.
"Oh, those?" HIMA says, turning around to the tissue box in question behind him. "I have it just in case, honestly. MEWO likes playing with it sometimes."
"I don't have any allergies of the sort... I think?" HIMA adds.

As a red hand floats away from him, HIMA answers with a grin. “All my friends are past the door, in the FIELDS.”
A pause as he readily recites the list of his friends. “There’s... SUNNY, AUBREY, MARI, HERO, and KEL. MARI Is the friend I..., uh, mentioned earlier. MEWO’s owner.”
“They’re doing alright, I think!” Replied HIMA, allowing a cheerful smile to slip onto his face.

THANK YOU FOR STICKING AROUND??? honestly i didnt think that we'd get this many followers in just about a month so this is surprising DUBFSJBFJSBDS as the artist of the blog i've been wanting to get back into it soon enough so with fingers crossed we should get back to the swing of things soon EHDBWJDBWJDGS AGAIN. Confusion strikes HIMA’s expression before his head turns to one of the mentioned floating, red hands.
“Oh-! I was sure that was you all…” His sentence drifts off - MEWO sitting as her tail fluttered to and fro with eyes, big and beady, trained onto the monochrome boy. “Um.”
( The askers are, indeed, the red hands while in White Space :] )
HIMA accomodates himself in front of the laptop, visible embarrassment in his face. He ushers MEWO away from the keyboard, the cat brushing her head against his hand and purring in return.
"I-I only have my diary in here..." HIMA awkwardly states. "...a-a-and even then, I didn't bother... uh... making it pretty." The boy mumbles the end of the sentence.
Looking back at the laptop, a single window labeled 'diary' rests in the middle of the screen. It includes different logs from different days, including things such as exploring White Space, or visiting someone past the door, always ending with 'Everything was okay'. At the end of the file, a string of repeated letters from MEWO's sleep cuts the pattern of repetitive sentences.
"S-sorry if it's all messy..." He quietly apologizes.
