I know that Morinaga fell in love with Souichi due to him being exactly his type however I do wonder what makes Souichi think Morinaga is someone special to him 🤔 is it because he is a good helper?

I mean the same chapter of Challengers that told you why Morinaga liked him tells you why he's special to him.

Morinaga saved him from being raped by a teacher.

(...yes I realize this becomes ironic later)

This caused Souichi to trust him and they became best friends.

Not only was he his helper, but they hung out all the time and Souichi spent the night at his place CONSTANTLY. He trusted him.

He's basically Souichi's only friend lol

That's the doujin Takanaga wrote for the fanbook story. It was supposed to fill in the sex scene that wasn't included in the fanbook.

It doesn't look like mangadex has the actual fanbook on their site.... mangago appears to have it but it's listed as fanbook "chapter 1.1" for some reason... (it's not listed under the main series it's listed in a separate entry for the fanbook)

Yeah, he was acknowledging it.

He was so worried about Morinaga getting sick to the point of passing out from worry about people finding out and causing Souichi problems that he wasn't going to bother to keep hiding the relationship from Tadokoro. And then Tadokoro gave him the plausible deniability by saying that he misunderstood so Souichi can keep living in denial lol....

Maybe a dumb question (or better yet it's 3am and my brain is still asleep) but who is Momoko? How does she know Souchi and Moringna?

Is she a student from their university? A neighbor? Is she like... a 4th wall break fan girl?

Momoko was one of the hoard of people who applied to be Souichi's assistant in vol 9, but we weren't introduced to her until the Vol 12 Extra. She is also Souichi's current assistant, Miharu's, friend. She had a crush on Souichi to begin with but has since realized that Souichi and Morinaga are dating and ships them.

She has been in the volume extras for vol 12, 13, 14, and now 16. But yeah she's basically a 4th wall break fan girl lol
