This song will make you want to fall in love
We are sun and moon, dear friend; we are sea and land. It is not our purpose to become each other; it is to recognize each other, to learn to see the other and honour him for what he is: each the other's opposite and complement.
Hermann Hesse, Narcissus and Goldmund
Yeah, sexy as hell.
I have been listening to them since Mozart's House and have been surprised by their art constantly.
The release of Lana Del Rey's third album (I am including her very first album, "Lana Del Rey A.K.A Lizzy Grant") makes the listeners wonder about several things. The main question is: 'Hmm... where is she?'
This new album has recognisable change from previous albums but still holds the scent of the artist. Like her any other songs, they are about her lover, dear baby, and uncontrollable love towards him. However, if "Born To Die" was irresistible retro colours, this time it's deeper―it's dark, silently violent and reminds me of movie <Bellflower>; what life out of movie looks like. Rocky beats and black & white theme cool down her burning love. And with combination of her voice, it creates tickling feeling in the heart; which I would call 'blessed sadness'.
At first I heard "Shades of Cool", I was shocked by quite changed style. I questioned myself, if I would like this album as much as I did to her previous ones. And yes, I am addicted to her again, playing a playlist over and over. After all, she didn't change her style―she just painted it with different colours.
Another Disney movie. Nothing serious.
Sherlock. What can I say.
It's Monday. So chillex.
Officially addicted to this song!
"I don't want to know if you fall down and you love roses"
And may the odds be ever in your favour
Yes, I did it. I FINALLY did it.
First book of The Hunger Games, <The Hunger Games>, was literally rebirth of sci-fi. I have a tendency to have high expectation when it comes to read or watch sci-fi genre, which reason I don't know. When I heard about release of The Hunger Games, I didn't even watch the trailer; because my somewhat-arrogant expectation simply assumed that the movie would be just same as other shitty ones.
And here I am, overwhelmed by very first book of the trilogy.
Storyline was well-structured, brilliantly descriptive with pragmatic characters. I must admit that there were some fictional magic, though. Well, Katniss didn't have to go through terrible time by killing Rue herself, right? (or, some people might call it as Suzanne Collins' gifted brain-to-hand skill)
And those emotions!
(Real) human beings are complicated, it's a common fact. But fictional characters? They are based on us living creatures but it is arduous for fictional characters to show multi-dimension that real humans have. Katniss is brave and almost fearless, yet she is caring and fragile inside (I believe this is why she wants to look strong). During the reading, it was so intense that I felt as if I was completely occupied by Katniss' mind and brain.
Film adaptation was... good. Every film based on a novel modifies the story, I know. But I guess I expected to feel same sensation from film as I did from the book. Also the film is made in different point of view (the book was written in Katniss' perspective), so I cannot really censure it. Still, the actors/actresses' performances were outstanding and cinematography and directing were very organised and realistic (due to shaky cam).
I am holding the next book <The Hunger Games-Catching Fire> in my hand. I'd love to start reading it right now, but I need to calm down after effect of the first book before I madly fall in love with this heartthrob.
