The White House Years
In January of 1992, Bill was sworn in as the 42nd President of the United States. On that day their lives changed forever. Being in the White House gave them opportunities of a lifetime, but it also brought complications and tested their marriage like never before.
In Arkansas they have always been a political team, but in the White House they had to have distinguished roles and different responsibilities. That, unfortunately, put a strain on their marriage as they felt alone and distant. It took time for them to find their grounding. Those years were also signed by Chelsea leaving for college and moving to California and they found themselves with an empty nest.
After the famous scandal came out and Bill got impeached for it, many have speculated if their marriage was over. Hillary decided to remain in the marriage and stand by her husband. It was seen by many as a testament to the strength, or perhaps the complexity, of their bond—some view it as proof of their profound connection, while others see it as a political calculation to preserve their shared ambitions.
Later, HIllary confessed that she was conflicted by the decision, it wasn’t easy to make but she didn’t regret it as she loves Bill with all her heart and loves the life they’ve built together.
Guys I need your help, I’ve been trying to find this forever because it looks like she’s teasing him in pics 😭

The hands!
When I was 14, I learned that Bill Clinton's advisors blamed his 1980 gubernatorial loss on Hillary not taking his last name and being "feminine" enough (instead of the very obvious answer that Ronald Reagan's landslide victory on the presidential level had down ballot coattails), and it honestly radicalized me. From that age, I always knew I would keep my last name after marriage, no matter how much I loved my husband (and I really do love my husband for the record), and nothing could or has changed my mind in the last 16 years.
Another anecdote re: Hillary that stands out is that during Bill Clinton's 1992 presidential campaign, Hillary requested personalized "Hillary RODHAM Clinton" stationery, but Bill's male staffers thought she was uppity (or w/e) so they thought it'd be funny to give her "Hillary Clinton" stationery without her maiden name included because god forbid women aren't solely identified by their husbands' names.
So, Hillary sent the stationery back and asked them to add the "Rodham" in, and they once again came out with "Hillary Clinton" stationery. This back-and-forth went on a few times until she got fed up and told her her husband his staffers were incompetent and he stepped in and flat out told them that his wife outranked all of them and they had to listen to her. Bill shouldn't have had to do that! These male staffers should have just done it right the first time but they loathed the idea of a woman having any authority over them and acted out.
Like, this is how we know the Clinton Kill List isn't real; if it was, a whole lot of people would be dead who are (unfortunately) still alive and well.
"Have you met my first husband?" LOL
