Setup :: Roger Radcliffe is a very important, powerful man (Dunno why yet, but that’s why I’m testing the waters). He’s up late working on something unexpected in his study when someone enters the room. Could be his partner, employee, etc. - or even a home invader? 👀

      The study was dark, except for the desk light that illuminated the small area around the man. His workspace faced a large window covered by sheer curtains. In daylight, it perfectly lit the entire room, and provided a great view of the beautiful woods behind the manor. At night, the only light available came from that tiny lamp. Three of the four walls were floor-to-ceiling with books, all rare novels and editions he’s collected over the last few decades. A navy blue velvet chaise lounge was in the corner opposite the door, and the 48-year-old sat in a creaking wooden desk chair in the distance. An ugly, but chic, carpet covered most of the hardwood floor. On the only wall free of shelving was a large, erotic painting of the male he believed just entered the study.

      “I’m sorry. I should’ve been finished with this hours ago, but I can’t seem to focus on anything.” Without even looking up from the desk, the man sat back in the creaky chair, then sighed. It’d been an incredibly long day, and all he really wanted to do was crawl into bed. But duty called, and a man of his standing never put off a task that needed complete.
