Hi! Do you know if the Japanese version of the summer palace has illustrations in it? Other than the front cover?

Apart from the front cover and the character profile section at the start of the book (which can be found in the previous books as well), there are no other illustrations to be found in the final book.

Just wanted to share something that I think some of you yaoi/BL lovers might like.

As you've noticed from my posts, I love my yaoi. Over the years, I've been moving from collecting the physical version of the items I want towards the digital (shipping fees plus storage are getting to be a nuisance).

Case in point, my Kindle (Amazon Japan) is filled with majority of the manga titles I adore. For the titles that aren't on Amazon Japan's Kindle store, I found the digital copies on Animate Bookstore (www.animatebookstore.com). And while the digital versions are censored (sob!), it's still a great way to support the artists. I'm hoping that the uncensored/tankobon version comes to the digital world soon, though.

Recently, I stumbled upon a website called PokeDora and I'm over the moon! I've been wanting to dive into the world of BL drama CDs but found it annoying because they usually provide the output in CD form only. With PokeDora, you can download the tracks of the drama you want directly to your device (the app is not region-locked). I'm really hoping that more BL drama content becomes available digitally for streaming and/or downloading because being able to listen to my favorite characters come (wink, wink) to life while reading alongside the manga is pure joy.

The final book of the Captive Prince series (Japanese version) which contains four side stories was released last month and is stunning. Chinatsu Kurahana just made me want to dive back into the world with her illustrations in my mind.

There’s no Captive Prince manga (at the moment, but maybe there will be one in the future – I’m definitely looking forward to that or even an anime version).

The images you’re referring to are from the Japanese version of her works. They’re all drawn by Chinatsu Kurahana as something extra (a very beautiful extra) for when you read the translated version.

Methinks I went a bit overboard while ordering doujinshis from buydoujinshi.com – no regrets, though.

Tried ordering from @buydoujinshi recently and found their website to be the most gaijin-friendly website there is.

Instead of going through the trouble of registering to first the main website where you can buy your doujinshi and then registering again to a third-party website since most of the doujinshi websites don’t sell their products internationally or don’t accept payment unless your credit card/address is registered in Japan, Buy Doujinshi simply asks you to register once in their website and then you can browse through the linked doujinshi websites right there (my personal favorites being Surugaya and Toranoana). Payment is through PayPal, thus quick and safe.

The packaging is really secure, the doujinshis in pristine condition, and the prices a steal when compared to the prices of other websites. While the doujinshis took some time to get to BD’s headquarters in Hokkaido (3 weeks), shipping took 2 days to reach my country and another 3 days for them to deliver the package to my home.
