i dont think ive ever shared my favorite hanawa scene here but this is like. the single most character defining hanawa moment to me. why are you going ☝️🤓 with a gun pointed to your head
I AM SICK OF PEOPLE WHO STATE NARUTO AND SAKURA ARE SUPER FRIENDS. NO THEY ARE NOT! When i ve read Naruto gaiden it seemed that she does'nt talk with anyone and i was not wrong at all!
Hi, me too. I made a post about team 7 dynamic and I stated that everyone's relationship on this team was fake expect Kakashi's but Sakura was the worst. She used everyone around her to get what she wanted and when she got it she pulled a symbolic middle finger to the people that helped her. She sometimes talks with Ino but even with her she does not trust her fully. When it comes to Naruto it is just terrible and sad. Throughout the Gaiden they barley even talked. When Shin was attacking Naruto, Sasuke and Sarada, Sakura was only concerned about Sasuke and her daughter. Naruto had to say sth about his condition for her to even ask him if he was okay. This is not what a medical ninja does. The anime saved her sorry ass by adding dialogue "my dearest friend" so ss stans can shut their mouths when they talk about anime making Sakura worse. It is the opossite, anime improves her character. I also want to mention that she does not talk to Kakashi, her teacher who saved and protected her so many times, even pushed her feelings on Sasuke. I know there will be people who will say 'but Sasuke also does not talk to anyone' but Sasuke is not fake and from the beginning it was shown that he only accepts and talks to Naruto. It is better to be real than to fake your whole relationship with everyone around.
Its funny how its not only SS stans who use purposefully wrong translations to proof something that isn't there but also these sns retards
Real translation:
🤨
The “gossip” tone makes it sound like Sasuke’s main contacts in Konoha are strained or unwanted, which only reinforces that distance from both Naruto and Sakura. It almost highlights that his real connections lie elsewhere.
It is kind of funny, because it unintentionally comes off as a critique of both Naruto and Sakura. Sasuke avoids Sakura completely, and at the same time he’s shown as having tense, almost fight-ready encounters with Naruto — it paints a picture of him not really wanting anything to do with either of them.
I wonder where and with whom else he is in contact... I guess I already know.
If we look at it, the wording plus the context from Chapter 699 and Gaiden makes it feel that way.
○ With Sakura – He doesn’t visit her, doesn’t send letters, and even in Gaiden he only meets her indirectly through Sarada. The fact that the text here doesn’t mention her at all speaks volumes.
○ With Naruto – He does meet him, but the description frames it as tense, with an undercurrent of conflict (“on the verge of clashing”).
So the image it paints is: Sasuke’s closest Konoha relationships are either avoided (Sakura) or strained (Naruto). And yeah… that definitely gives off the “he doesn’t want to deal with them” vibe.
Naruto nor Sakura were Sasuke's friends.

Gaiden - 7goodangel
New Wings - Soo Won and Yona´s chosen path
I think, the last chapter actually demonstrated this very well...
I. Isolation your name is Soo Won 1. reading
I know, I know, that Soo Won said, that he likes reading, because he likes learning. And I honestly believe it. But please...look.
What does Soo Won definitely NOT do in that moment?
Reading!
Soo Won is literally lost in thoughts. He has the book on his knees, but he does actually not look into it. It does not suffice anymore.
He is basically dreaming.
Before he heard something...that caught his attention.
This whole scene is an analogy to the last chapter.
2. Lily´s involvement
Here, too, there is a fricking tree to see. Soo won was sitting (in bed this time) with an open book.
(You can basically interpret the tree as a being that needed "time to grow"...and therefore something new will happen as a consequence of past actions...)
3. There is Lily, there is Yona
Both times Min Soo announced a lady, who was waiting to meet Soo Won.
4. The distance of Soo Won
Honestly the perspective is very interesting. We, the readers, merely see Soo Won from a distance. We, the readers, are literally standing behind Lily, who also had turned her back to us.
Of course, it isn´t just a literal distance, but an emotional. We can literally see, how distant Soo Won is perceived - by Lily.
And Lily was very courageous to close the distance between them, more and more. She came nearer, telling him they were friends.
A thing Soo Won did not want to believe. Could not believe, because she has previously hurt him badly in the Xing Arc.
Here Soo Won commented, laughing, that Lily was lively. Lily did not take this well, as she understood it as criticism.
"My bad, I´ll be quiet."
A little nearer, but still pretty distant does Yona perceive Soo Won as well.
Again. We cannot see Soo Won´s face clearly, as we, the readers, stand - again- behind Yona, facing a distant Soo won.
And again, Soo Won mentioned Lily. That guy was so careless, that he had to mention her in front of Yona...Very likely he had thought about her....
Again her "liveliness" is mentioned, like to "live".
5. "Is that so?"
"is that so?" - this question has appeared in the gaiden 3 times.
The first time: Soo Won asked this, when he did not want to meet Lily.
The second time: Yona expressed her distance to Soo Won, her refusal to listen to Soo Won´s emotional "moment"...You can literally call it this. Soo Won could not suppress it...After all...General Geuntae has left.
Yona did, what this family always does, when something is difficult: She changed the topic. Most likely General Geuntae and Soo Won´s admiration remembered her too much of Yu hon...And of the murder of her father...
6. A book to keep a distance -
a book to connect
The last time Soo Won had pretended to read in order to make Lily leave.
Somehow I do have the inkling, that Lily hearing Soo Won say, that she did not need to worry, his head would work just fine, made Lily feel a little silly for worrying in the first place.
This time...with Yona..Soo Won did not open the book again.
This time, Soo Won actually talked about his feelings.
It is funny, but the closed book basically could also signify, that the story of "General Geuntae" is over.
Being a relative of Soo Won...Yona is - of course - attracted to the book. She asked him, if he was studying, even now. Soo Won replied, that he enjoyed learning and Yona stared at him. Well, Soo Won had become one.
One of her ideals.
You can literally see, that Soo Won is nearer to our perspective, while Yona seems to be farer away. She literally feels left behind and is currently a little overwhelmed by her tasks. After all, Soo Won had mastered all this. So she is supposed to achieve this as well.
Longingly Yona sighed. When would she finally be able to do the 10.000 government affairs?
Yona apparently compared herself - not exactly favorable - to Soo Won, most likely forgetting that she is only 16, pretty new to the job and had no appropriate training for it.
Luckily for her, Soo Won admits it freely.
"It´s impossible."
Through a book Yona and Soo Won were able to connect. It created a private moment between them.
In contrast to the situation with Lily, where Soo Won had created a shield, a border between him and Lily and had not answered truthfully.
7. The negative connotation of books
This is nothing new to Soo Won...creating borders out of books that tower over every living being is a specialty of his.
In fact, he is not the only one, who sometimes uses a book as a shield to hide behind...Yona and Soo Won are family, after all.
8. the message of the diary
Sometimes however, a book has a special meaning, transports ideas...a message through time and space...until it reaches "the right person".
And this happened to the heroine of this story...Yona understood the thoughts of Soo Won´s mother.
She had wanted to learn about Soo Won, about King Hiryuu, about Yon hi and their fate.
In that walls and walls of text, Yona had found the answer, she had searched for.
An answer that had lead her to become queen...as she became politically involved.
"You know...I love Lady Yon hi. Because she wished with all her heart that we wouldn´t hate each other," told Yona Soo Won.
Yona wished for forgiveness...she had felt Yon hi´s message in her heart. She understood just by her words...
The power of words...of books...is sometimes fascinating.
Something Soo Won had not understood. His mother´s words had not reached him...not yet.
Forlorn he had lived among his books...
II. Actions speak louder than Words
1. Yona´s chosen way
No, there had been no mere words that had made Soo Won falter, change his already chosen path...
How less had Yona been able to persuade him in Xing with words alone? Has the cycle of hatred she had spoken about impressed anybody then?
Still as lofty her aim sounded to the ears of the poor mortals around her...,Yona practiced, what she preached...even before she had read the diary...To end the circle of hartred.
Some people used to suggest, that Yona could have killed him in that moment...true. But she decided for a completely different route.
Yona had literally suffered flashbacks during this moment.
Of the murder of her father.
Only then did Soo Won start to see...Yona.
It had been not her words, that had persuaded him.
Soo Won, who is so often considered a bookish person, cannot be swayed by mere words.
2. Soo Won turned around
It had been her actions that had changed his way...
When he had needed her, she had been there...
"She had supported me, she helped me...and you reached me with the Senjusou," Soo Won revealed to Hak...why he had turned around. He stopped the course of his plan...to come...
Shimmering in the dark...in the eyes of Hak.
When Yona and Hak had needed him the most...he had come.
It had been his actions, that had changed Yona´s and Hak´s, their hearts...
3. The Honey
Along her way, along his way...there were people.
People that counted on them. People they influenced and helped.
"Right now, I want so save Soo Won. I want to bring him home to the people waiting for him", said Shin ha.
Once he had been severly affected by his hate for Soo Won. Yet, this was more meaningful than being consumed by rage and violence.
"Yona you´re a strong person with the power to forgive others. That´s why everyone followed you."
Shin ha, too, had been affected by Yona´s decision and actions.
But it was also a demonstration of Soo Won´s own decisions...
Lily, too, had been affected by Yona, yet, definitely by Soo Won.
Meetings which create people is the chapter called, where both - Lily and Soo Won - meet.
How often he had brought forth her tears, how many times had she been moved by his words and actions?
Lily had considered him the perfect king, yet she had hardly believed, that he could be shaken, that he could be weak.
But Lily cares for Soo Won...not merely as a king, but as a person.
Therefore she came to visit...and she brought something...that held Shin ha´s, his, and Lily´s, her, wishes for Soo Won.
The honey...
This finally reached Soo Won. The book disappeared in the following panels.
Soo Won treated the honey like a treasure....He loved it so much, that he consumed it, put it in his mouth, instead on his wound.
4. A fire is burning
Soo Won wished to give this treasure to Yona, whom he also deeply cared for.
Soo Won admitted his own struggles while he was a king.
"I was also working to the point of cutting down on my sleep, but I´m not sure I was managing it either."
A fire was burning during this evening Soo Won and Yona had met outside...just like in the night, Soo Won had made his decision, that had turned Yona´s life completely around.
5. The Boy King
Burning with rage upon the death of his beloved father, Soo Won was consumed by hate, yet still preoccupied with the fate of the people of this country....
He had been a child of 9, when he had decided, that he would decide for himself. That he had no need for the gods. First he had to see...if King Il had been capable with known outcome.
A decision he - at least - partly regretted. Due to Yona´s and Hak´s involvement (Honestly, I believe to this day, that Soo Won does give as much fuck about King Il, as Yona gives about Soo Won´s father).
Kusanagi was not exactly subtle, that she considered this burden, the hope of all the people on Soo Won´s shoulder´s a too heavy thing for a child to carry.
6. Yona´s admiration
However, it appeared that the reign over this country proved not just for a young king or queen as too much to carry...therefore Soo Won had decided to change the system.
The first time in the history of Kouka, Soo Won decided that instead of crippling people, in order to fit them the mold of the perfect king, the system might be adjusted.
In clear text: The guy, who usedt o have ten thousand boxes - for every person and feeling one- in order to become the best king...decided it might be time, that abhorrent established conventions should be reconsidered. Instead of more boxes, more people might rule.
"The rulers of this country have been holding far to much control over the government. It´s been so since the times the Crimson Dragon King was worshipped like a god."
"The world is changing...
We need to reconsider the content of govermental affairs and hand it over to people outside of the sole ruler."
When Soo Won said this, he appeared so grande in Yona´s eyes.
Indeed, this was something she could not do...
Soo won did this for her...putting her box up....and demonstrating, that he did not need to cripple himself to be a good ruler.
Yet, as shining as he might appear in her eyes. This was not the tipping point.
7. The sweet milk
It would still be hard on Yona - to carry out 2000 tasks. Currently, a mere mortal Yona, who has no special powers anymore felt overwhelmed.
And Soo Won realized it and wanted to ease her stress a little. So he shared the honey, "the thing", that he considered so important, that he put it into his milk, instead of appyling it on his wound.
Yona hesitated.
Soo Won obviously held the honey dear...should she really take the last of it?
Yet, Soo Won merely stated:
"No, I am sure that the person, who gave it to me, would like you to drink it."
Soo Won let it open, whom he meant with this statement -was it Shin ha (Lily had claimed it was his gift) or was it Lily (who had literally given him the honey...)?
Her cousin appeared in Yona´s eyes so shimmering and beautiful, when she looked up to him.
Only then, after she had had the sweet, sweet milk, could she appreciate the moon, hiding behind dark clouds...
The "Dawn of Yona" is a strange fairy tale, where the "Sun" appreciates the "Moon".
