Random photos from Japan. At first I didn't know what to expect, I mean, it's Japan. Their food, culture, and people are all amazing. I would definitely go back.
"Where am I supposed to look?!"
This girl's pretty awesome.
Because Lenny told me to post this.
Think I laughed too loud. But anyway, funny every time I watch this. Was in tears.
Spent NYE with these clowns. So much fun. 2013 was good to me. Here's to progressing into 2014 with a positive mindset.
Also, America 2014!!!
The end of an era.
http://www.vyralize.com/1263/msn-messenger-officially-shutting-down-here-are-some-of-the-best-memories-we-wont-forget/
Just saw this link posted (article may be old), but it made me reminisce. I can't even begin to imagine the memories of high school and early uni where I spent countless hours in front of the computer chatting online to friends I had seen during the day, or to ones I had not seen in years.
I think I still have the chatlogs of some interesting chats I've had. It's weird to know that nowadays, I simply don't have time for that anymore, or that everything has just gone mobile. We are so interconnected with different social medias that we practically know what everyone we know in our lives is up to. MSN was a way around that when facebook had not taken off as much, apps like whatsapp didn't exit and twitter was only but a billion dollar idea ready to take off.
MSN provided a gateway to catching up with friends and brought me closer together for others. The epitome of online chatting has come to an end, and realising that only makes me feel old.

1 second every day of my life from August 8 - September 17.
With some days missing because I forgot. Not sure if I can keep this up. Looks ok when its all put together but remembering to do it is a chore.
People can be awesome.
Initiating the conversation is half the battle.

Random Memory #3: Year 11 Biology Experiment - Lung capacity.
In Year 11, we got to design our own experiment. Our marks would be graded on how extensive our problem was, and how we could gather the research for our hypothesis, as well as how detailed our findings were.
This is Year 11. 8 years ago. 3 filo dudes in a class who thought this would actually be fun. Bear in mind, none of us ever thought we would be some sort of scientist or anyone with a PhD when we grew up.
After much discussion we came up with an experiment to measure lung capacity pre- and post-exercise. The idea was we would have a bucket filled with water, and in that bucket we would have a bottle filled with water and markings on the side indicating measurements of lung capacity (which begs the question... what the fuck IS the measurement for lung capacity?!. I can't even remember what we used.) Here is the diagram for the contraption we used:
Simple enough. So anyway, here are some progress pics to illustrate just how dedicated we were to this.
Sunkist. Providing the foundation to our 100%. Also, wtf happened to it?
Those measurements look about right.
Our baby in action. Also props to the dirty hose.
All this hard work deserves some much needed hydration. We were thirsty, we had bottles of water. It was only right. Also Richard's small ratty. HAHA damn.
Here's me running so damn fast. That's why I'm blurry. The running was so we could then measure our lung capacity after exercise.
Anyway, long story short, this was just a memory post because I randomly came across these photos and thought this was a great assignment. In the end, we actually didn't do too bad...
Cooling off, and through the tunnel.
The incline to my decline.
It was a somewhat sunny morning when I woke up. My legs aching from a previous long hot day of tennis, I woke up to a msg from Lenny asking if I was coming along today... I contemplated a bit at the current state I was in but thought fuck it -- I'm not a bitch, at least not today. So I decided to go. Today, I figured we'd be in for a simple walk through some shrub, over some boulders and up a bitching climb. No.
The walk started off slow as normal, the descent into the valley actually went for about 5km before reaching the bottom where the falls were. We cooled off at some other randoms falls on the way down a couple times, and then continued our descent into the valley. My legs were shaking just going down the steps. And sweat became a factor in me having to clean my glasses every now and then. Thanks sweat.
When we reached the bottom we could see just how far we had to climb. The sheer look on my face, in my mind, was just in awe. The 1km total incline was what got me. We read the reviews for this track (because it's always smart to know your hazards before venturing into an unknown space), and a guy who ADMITTED TO BEING FIT, actually considered this a challenge. I thought, what have I gotten myself into, but I knew that once I had conquered this mountainous obstacle of uneven rocks, muddy buddies and stairs straight from hell below itself, I figured I would be on a high. Because that's where I am. On my fucking high horse. /sunglasses
There was a lot of swearing in my head doing this track, and the numerous cuts I got from doing it was no help. There was a section that had a recent landslide where we had to traverse a path where the footing was no more than 20cm wide -- meaning one slip, and you'd go straight to the bottom, like the old lady's diamond in Titanic. The only thing we had to hold onto was a piece of metal wiring installed for our safety.
Anyway, things were getting serious when I began to straggle going up. I think I was about 5 minutes behind, couldn't tell. My knees gave in after only so many steps. My gatorade and water were almost consumed, and I had no more salt & vinegar chips. I was spent.
Eventually some of the guys' legs started cramping up and we were all taking rests to recover. This went on for the last 200m before finally reaching the top. SUCCESS. In the end, I really think this track is the worst I've bushwalked. I always forget how difficult the climb is. But today I owned it. Completed in 6.5 hours. just like the instructions said so.
I listened to the Candlelight remix of Jay Sean's "Back To Love" song. I thought it sounded as awesome as his other candlelight remixes, and then about 1.5 minutes in... he starts singing in Hindi. It caught me off guard, but the song is still amazing!
Endomondo tells me I've done 99.86km on my bike. I really wanted to break that 100km on my ride just then but I guess I fell short. I really need to bike ride more lol. I should be around 1000km by now. I guess I will make it my goal this year. Or a more realistic target at around 500km or something.
Paperman.
