1 Paragraph Synopsis:
Rejected actors Carlos and Riley add one more home to their list of breaking and entering as they struggle to make ends meet. The two enter the apartment looking for the usual valuables like jewelry or electronics but are taken aback when they discover a large movie collection. They soon find out the apartment belongs to a movie producer and all kinds of alarms go off in Riley’s head. Riley relives his love for film, and reveals to Carlos that he wants to restart his acting career but Carlos has a much more jaded perspective. Riley then suggests that Carlos join him which only makes Carlos more defensive. Riley is confused about Carlos’ quick aggressive distaste against the idea and the two get into a heated argument turned into a fistfight, portrayed by the emotions and context of scenes from movies. As tensions die down after their fight, Carlos reveals what being an actor took out of him and is ultimately afraid to go down that path again. Riley acknowledges Carlos’ fear but tells him that Carlos deserves his life as a working actor, fail or not, than as some common criminal. Carlos gives in to Riley’s show of friendship as that cinephile spark flickers in Carlos once more. Their heartfelt moment is abruptly interrupted however as they are chased out of the apartment, ‘riding into the sunset’ with a new path ahead of them.
