“Everyday is the same for me. But one day, when I woke up, I didn’t know where I was. I wonder… who am 「 I 」 ?”

Translation Notes
Suigin ( 水銀 ) actually means “Mercury”. Her name, therefore, should actually be Mercury. However, because it was her name, I didn’t want to mess with it too much, so I kept it as Suigin. (After all, the escort’s names also mean things but they are kept unchanged).
Benibara ( 紅薔薇 ), likewise, is actually “Red Rose”. Shirosoubi ( 白薔薇 ) is “White Rose”.
Doctor ( 先生 ), on the other hand, is translated as Doctor because “Sensei” in Japanese refers to his profession. So it was kind of weird to me leaving it as Sensei, seeing that it’s not actually his name.
Gokusotsu ( 獄卒 ) doesn’t really have an English translation. At best, it means “Prison Workers” (I’ve also heard that they’re called “Jailers”). But, as Matsumoto explains, they really aren’t prison workers at all. So, it was kept as Gokusotsu.
Underworld Escorts is not actually “Underworld Escorts”. The Gokusotsu actually work in a branch that roughly translates to Special Duty Officers or Secret Police Force ( 特務室 ). However, in the first game, they’re referred to as “Underworld Escorts”, so I will as well.
The medicine in the cabinets and the books on the library shelves were a little hard to translate. Some of them are real books and real chemicals. Others, however, are kind of folklore or made up entirely. What you see in the game was the best picked titles.
Kirishima’s dialogue just outside of the chemical storage is a little awkward. Unfortunately for him, he is a little awkward. Supposedly, he wants to know what kind of things Doctor does at the hospital. However, that is not exactly what he said. Very annoying.
The underworld, the spirit world (あの世、異界)… these are just a few things Saitou calls “that world” you fall into. It quite literally means “the other world” but it’s not really specified exactly what it’s real name is. These are only speculation names, though, in case that was confusing.
Suigin and Saitou’s sassy dialogue. It’s sassy dialogue but also kind of confusing if you don’t know what’s going on. “Stray Cat” ( 野良猫 ) in Japanese also happens to mean “a flirt”, or so I’m told.
“Mr. Insect” is actually more like Venomous Insect ( 毒虫 ) or Poison Bug. I think Suigin only calls Matsumoto that, though, because he’s cowardly and she doesn’t seem to like Gokusotsu at all.
The Nurses’ way of speaking, the verbal tics with some of the patients, and the speech patterns of the souls in the basement. These things stumped me the most, and unfortunately made up 60% of translations. The nurses tend to elongate words and phrases, some of the patients talked entirely in hiragana, and a lot of the fluttering souls spoke as if they were not really capable of speaking. What you see in game was the best I could really do.
