honestly maybe the reason julius likes ragebaiting subaru so much (other than the fact that its funny) is because he likes seeing subaru get kind of fired up, like the day they first met (he was deeply moved, after all). because julius doesnt act like this with anyone else, its specifically subaru that he wants to get these reactions out of. normally hes the most chivalrous noble person, literally known as the "knight of knights." but when subaru enters the room he becomes a little shit. he has fun. with subaru, he can just be juli, after all.

subaru has earned himself a strategist role bc of the information he gets from time-looping, but he doesnt really loop in arc 5. so his strategies are like "i dont know, have we tried hitting him in the balls?" and at this point he has a good enough reputation that emilia and reinhard are like "good plan subaru. youre so awesome."

i think the season 4 episode made julisuba a real hit amongst the crowd and i'm fucking glad. This fandom needs to get gayer as soon as possible and that starts by visually showing Julius' eyes softening whenever they land on Subaru as if he's the most precious thing in the room.
