Takahisa turned towards the other man, inwardly taken aback by his appearance. Was this… him?

“Yes… may I help you?” He responded hesitantly.

As soon as the other turned around it really did seem like it could very well be… him. How strange, what was this supposed to mean? Was this supposed to be a warning of some sort? Or maybe, encouragement? Kandori wasn’t quite sure. 

“Sorry if this seems all of a sudden but… How are you doing?”

“How am I doing...?” He stood there for a moment staring at his younger self. Pondering if he should give a honest answer to the question.

“To be quite frank? I’m rather unwell. What about you... Takahisa?” He decided to call the man by his first name, just to check and make sure this was who he thought.

“Usually sake but a bit of both doesn’t sound bad. If you have any recommendations I’d be willing to try something new as well.”

“Sounds good to me! Well, I usually stick to beer and sake myself, but every once in awhile I like to have a bit of whiskey. Ahaha, it’s kinda strong but it has a nice kick.”

“Heh, I could use a kick... honestly.” After all he was ‘dead’. A little pick me up could be nice.

That man looks familiar, too familiar.  Although there is something similar about both of them, there are some differences too. How strange. He wonders if this was the result of the DEVA system. Wasn’t there always a warning about talking to other versions of your self? Maybe he would play it safe and keep his name to himself just in case.

“Ahaha, it’s no big deal. So, uh, what kind of drinks do you like? Are you more of a beer or a sake kind of guy? Maybe a bit of both?”

“Ahaha… Don’t worry! I’m sure you can still have fun, right?” At least Adachi hopes so. It wasn’t normally like Adachi to offer but… “I’ll buy!” 

“I think so.” he gives a nod... though he wondered if he’s ever had fun before dead or alive... “Oh? That’s quite generous of you.” He gives a rare smile.

“Well, it’s the truth.” He gives a stiff shrug. “There’s not much point hiding it.”

“Well since you’re alive, you should probably do something fun, huh? Hmm, we could go drinking if you’d like.” 

“Sounds like a fine idea to me. It’s not as if I can ruin my body anymore being undead and all.” Though could he even get drunk like this...? Eh.. probably.

Reiji decided to not push that more right now. He had to focus on learning more about how to control himself, not more about a man he hated.

“Do you know how to teach someone how to control their shifting, though?” Reiji furrowed his brow. He had no reason to think that Takahisa would know how to teach someone just because he could do it. “…Better make the most of what time you have left, old man.”

“All I know is I can try.” He shrugs stiffly. “I don’t know any other werewolves that I can refer you to.”

“I’m 28....” Takahisa huffed, ears flicking back. He wasn’t an ‘old man’ or an old wolf for that matter.

Reiji paused, looking back at him. “Excuse me? What, do I have to take you in? Find you a place to stay all because I showed you a little pity?” He didn’t like the sound of that.

“Something like that, yes. Or I suppose, after you went and helped me, I could go back out and do some heinous crime because you didn’t keep an eye on me.” He shrugs.

“Then maybe you should have ignored me when I told you to use the item…” Reiji scoffed, turning away. “Well, whatever. What you do now isn’t my business.”

“Perhaps I should have... but I guess I was hoping you had a reason to want me alive.” A stupid hope to hold onto now that he thought about it. If his deductions were correct the younger man had just done it to avoid watching him die again.

“Yes it is. You chose to help me. This is your responsibility.”
