"Yeah-no. That term’s a little immature for a S.H.I.E.L.D agent dot you thin-"
Tony was interrupted by his system’s alarm going off, turning his attention to it.
'Sir, there is a 37% match to the Winter Soldier in downtown New Jersey.'
"Well what are you waiting for, pull it up." An image opened on the screen and he turned it to Isabella. "That your boyfriend?"
Isabella shook her head, smirking a bit. She was growing rather fond of this Tony Stark, which was strange. She didn't generally play well with others right away.
The alarm going off raised her awareness and she absentmindedly brushed a hand against her gun. When Jarvis spoke, she raised slightly out of her chair, watching the image open up on the screen before her, jolting out of her seat instantly, blue eyes grazing over every aspect of the photo.
"Let's go." She answered, instead of giving him the intended yes or no.
She was already walking toward his garage.

"I’m not soft. I just don’t wanna deal with you for forever."
"Whatever you say, softie."
" Well then-" he groaned getting up. "It seems I have homework to do. JARVIS, open every satellite feed you can. Get me a visual on the winter soldier."
' Already working on it sir.'
Isabella looked at him for a moment, a gentle smile forming on her soft features as she relaxed for the first time since she'd gotten there. "You know, you're a lot softer than you like to let on, Tony Stark." She smirked teasingly.
Stark lounged back in his chair. “Is there anything else I should know?”
"I've told you everything you need to know, and the rest is in that file." She nodded, shifting in her chair.
"I did say might...."
"I'll have JARVIS start the scan now.."
"Thank you, Tony." She mumbled, still somewhat giddy from the news. Her heart was pounding at the thought she'd see James again. She sort of already knew how the scenario would play out, because she'd played all the possibilities in her head a dozen times over. But still, she couldn't help but get butterflies.
The hero Took a deep breath and looked at her before deciding on what to say. " I might-might- be able to track the wirings in his arm. But I cant make any promises."
Isabella sighed in relife, perking up after a moment with a grateful, giddy smiling. "Oh my god I could hug you." She chirped happily, bouncing in her seat. "But-- that would be weird." She mumbled, gathering herself and relaxing slightly, looking down at her hands as she fiddled with them in her lap, still smiling gently.
" Am I to assume that's the reason you came to me? For help finding your lost boyfriend?"
Isabella sighed, looking up at the man finally. "Please, Stark. You've got all technology available for tracking him down, and I need all the help I can get." She mumbled, her eyes trailing to a photo on his desk, it was framed, and it was of him and a blonde woman.
"That's Pepper, isn't it?" She nodded toward the photo. "You love her, don't you?" She raised a brow, knowing the answer already. "If you were in the situation I'm in, and that was Pepper out there, you'd do whatever possible to find her, wouldn't you?"
" Still doesn't justify what he's done. People are judged on their actions, not their motivations." He said closing the rest of the files to focus on this one picture.
"You're right." She agreed. "But right now, he's lost. He's not in HYDRA containment and he has no idea who he is, and I'm sure he's probably scared. What he's done, that was the Winter Soldier. Who he is now? That's Bucky Barnes. They're two different people, Tony." Her voice was softer, and sympathetic. There was a visible sadness, a longing in her blue eyes.
"I just wanna find him and bring him home is all."
He flipped through the holographic files. "So you're in love with a criminal? The whole 'fell in love with the enemy' cliché. You're saying you've lived through it?" He zoomed in on one of the pictures, analyzing it.
"He was never really a criminal, though. He was their toy. They'd programmed him, and they'd wiped his memory and made him believe his purpose in life was serving the people who'd fixed him. Like-- he owed them some kind of thanks." She explained.
Remember who you are.
Tony hovered his hand over the file, not once touching it as holograms spread over it.
"Don't get snippy with me." He he lifted his hands and spread them. The hologram lifted in correspondence and spread out into more holograms, each one a copy of the contents within the file. " I pay for your weapons and your bills." He said studying the files with his arms folded.
"Sorry, but much to your dismay, Stark, I don't exactly run with S.H.I.E.L.D anymore." She mumbled with a smug smirk. "Everyone there thought I was dead until recently." She shrugged. "Seems to happen a lot with us S.H.I.E.L.D agents, doesn't it?" She sighed, crossing her arms over her chest and refusing to look up at the file that was set in holograms before her.
She'd seen the file enough to know how much it hurt to look at. "I told you how I worked with the Winter Solider, analyzing him?" She raised a brow, her voice suddenly becoming quieter. "After a while, it turned into a lot more than that. I loved him. And he loved me back. Never got the chance to say it though, HYDRA uncovered me as an agent and they were gonna kill me. He risked his life to get me out of there, and he told me to run. I did. I ran for years, HYDRA on my tail. I've had about a dozen different identities, I'm starting to become Romanoff." She chuckled quietly.
He put up his hands in surrender. " If you insist."
He's had plenty of experience with women and fighting. By now he's figured it's just better to stop while you're ahead, especially when it came to feisty women....last one he argued with gave him some nasty bruises.
That only made Isabella angrier. He was mocking her. "If you'd like more proof, I suggest you read up on all the gory details in the file I'm lending you." She hissed. "And if that's still not enough to ease your deluded asshole mind, try contacting Rogers. If I'm not mistaken, he had a run in with the Winter Soldier not too long ago when the hellicarriers were hijacked by HYDRA."
Tony put his hands on the table and sunk back into his chair. “Alright kid, you must be new. Whoever sent you is pranking you, the Winter Soldier is nothing but a myth. A hoax created by some drunk ass Russians.”
He'd really done it now. He'd brought out her defnensive side, and she was willing to pull out photographic evidence. "That's where you're wrong, Stark." She snapped. "See, I worked with the Winter Soldier in person. Fury put me on an undercover mission to infiltrate HYDRA and observe. I was assigned by the head of HYDRA to analyze the Winter Soldier daily, and the evidence in this file will only prove me right."
She didn't understand why people had to be so thick headed sometimes. "This is the file that made me understand exactly what they'd put him through. The Winter Soldier is Bucky Barnes. And I assure you Mr. Stark, he is very real."
” Cap’s old time boyfriend?” Tony took his feet down a leaned in closer to hover over the file. “Yes I’m familiar with the story” He picked up a pencil and fiddled with it between his fingers.
"Are you also familiar with the story of the Winter Soldier?" She mumbled, raising a brow at the billionaire. This was all vital information. She needed to know what he knew before she could begin her story. The reason she was here.
