literally just copy-pasting this from a groupchat the other day because. BECAUSE.
@hissraad: just wrote a 14 tweet essay about qunari and guns because i am physically incapable of letting dragon age go
@orphanghost: hahahah oh dear
@hissraad: it's absolutely logical though!!! and lawd could u imagine those big tank boys with submachine guns
@hissraad: (i came to this conclusion bc of that musketeers/dragon age crossover and i was thinking abt how u could have musketeers in a world without muskets, and even if muskets existed i highly doubt anyone who could make them would bother trying to sell them to orlais)
@hissraad: so then i was like, ok so it's gonna be the dwarves or the qunari that figure out firearms, and there's that whole gunpowder plot in da2 that explains that the qunari gunpowder is 'safer' than lyrium
@hissraad: but the means of producing gaatlok would require a more diverse trade with tevinter, but it's only really kal-sharok that still trades with tevinter by the dragon age, all of the thaig dwarves are slowly going crazy and infertile anyways, and trying to instigate any kind of change down there is just asking for trouble
@hissraad: whereas you have your thaig ruins(?) up in par vollen that have clearly been scouted bc bull mentions it off-hand in the wastes and you only ever hear of qunari fighting with tevinter, not with darkspawn, so maybe they only rly have a problem with blights in the south? idk
@hissraad: and there isn't really a logical reason as to why there are no dwarves left in par vollen, unless a) whoever was in par vollen before the kossith/qunari killed them all, b) the kossith/qunari themselves killed them all, c) the dwarves abandoned their thaig up in the north for.... reasons??? blights in the south? civil war? no idea
@hissraad: maybe they'd mined the shit out of their titan long before the mainland thaigs. idk.
@boogerwookiesugarcookie: probably just a blight wiped out the northern thaigs given that blights are constant underground
@hissraad: but there lies the probability of unspoiled dwarven... anything. kind of like the deep roads dlc where you go down to kalhirol and everything's just been left where it is?
@hissraad: (i'm also curious how this lines up with the whole "uthenera vs. the dwarves" and "that one time there was an elvhen refugee camp in the thaigs"(which isssss especially interesting bc it was cadash thaig that the elves went to)
@hissraad:(actually given that the whole thing abt the elves in cadash thaig was that the imperium tried to use elvhen artefacts and spoiled them, and 'the stone', which we now know to be titans, came to their aid.... i wanna know how that works in relation to the evanuris, or whether it's to do with the imperium sacking arlathan, or orlais sacking the dales, or...)
@hissraad: oh my god i'm such a nerd
@orphanghost: Lmao but we love you
@hissraad: "so how do you feel about dragon age?" "I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED BETWEEN THE DWARVES AND THE ELVES IN THE ANCIENT ERA"
