Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold
by Ellen O'Connell
Wild west historical romance
Annie is white and Cord is half Comanche, living in 1880s Colorado
Very good book
Captivating love story
Eyes of Silver, Eyes of Gold is a story of family conflicts set in Colorado in 1885.
Anne Wells has embarrassed her rigidly proper family since she was a child with occasional but grievous lapses from ladylike behavior. They blame those lapses for the disgraceful fact that she is a spinster at 28.
Cord Bennett, the son of his father's second marriage to a Cheyenne woman, is more than an embarrassment to his well-to-do family of ranchers and lawyers - they are ashamed and afraid of their black sheep. When Anne and Cord are found alone together, her father's fury leads to violence. Cord's family is more than willing to believe that the fault is his.
Can Anne and Cord use the freedom of being condemned for sins they didn't commit to make a life together? Or will their disapproving, interfering families tear them apart?
Surrender the Wind
by Elizabeth St. Michel
Review: 4.5 Stars Set in 1864. A novel filled with realistic and strong emotions, and a true love story of this era.
Highly recommended.Â
When fate throws a Confederate soldier and a Yankee heiress together, theyâll uncover a fierce love worth fighting forâŠeven if it means crossing enemy lines.
From the award-winning, bestselling author of The Winds of Fate comes a novel about a love that crosses the boundaries of civil war.
When Confederate General John Daniel Rourke is severely wounded at the Battle of the Wilderness, heâs captured and sent to a prison camp. On his way there, Union soldiers mistake him for dead and toss him from the train into the New York countryside, where he lands at the feet of Catherine Fitzgerald, a schoolmistress.
Rourke wakes to find the mysterious and strong-spirited beauty nursing him back to health. Heâs intrigued but unaware of her true identity as the heiress to the Unionâs ammunitions manufacturer, and their fiery battle of wits and wills commences.
Yet when outside forces begin to envelop them in a larger conspiracy, their own war begins. Torn between family loyalties and manipulated by a powerful leader from the Irish underworld, Catherine and Rourke will have to fight on both sides of the secession line to win the most significant battle of all: the fight for their love.
Filled with detailed battle scenes and breathtaking twists, Surrender the Wind has won âthe Marleneâ and âthe Catherineâ Romance Writerâs Awards.

Review: The storyline starts like that of Judith McNaught's Something Wonderful but progressed differently and I love the hero as much as the kick-ass heroine.
Rogue Countess (Regency Rogues #1)
by Amy Sandas
A passion neither of them wantedâŠand neither can deny.
Anna Locke was once young, naĂŻve and infatuated with the handsome Jude Sinclair. Until the charismatic âgentlemanâ showed his true colors by abandoning her on their wedding day.
In the years since, she has transformed herself into a confident, successful woman, independent of her errant husbandâs aristocratic family in every way but name. When Jude unexpectedly returns demanding a divorce, she quashes the butterflies he still elicits, and resolves to show him she wonât be so easily cast aside.
Jude has come home to assume the responsibilities left to him upon his fatherâs death, and to finally end the marriage into which he was tricked. To his surprise, Anna is no longer an awkward, skinny girl with a furtive gaze. She has become a lush, enigmatic vixen with dark eyes that shield secrets she seems determined to keep.
In their intimate war of wills, the heat of bold desire flares into passionâand casts light on a shared past tangled in lies and blackmail. But until Jude can win her trust and learn the truth, there will be no destroying the obstacles that loom darkly between themâŠand the love that should have been theirs.
Product Warnings: This title contains a shockingly revealing sapphire gown, highly improper behavior at a masquerade, a tangled web of deception, and perhaps most scandalous of all, a fiery passion that flares to life between a husband and wife who have been estranged since their wedding day.
Want something as cool as Winter King by C.L Wilson? Here's Tempered Hearts by S.A Huchton. Hero loves another woman so brace yourselves. ;)
The war against corrupted monsters from the Void may have ended, but much remains broken in Valentia, including its reluctant monarch. To save the kingdom from the destruction of civil war, Darius Marillion had to sacrifice his heart, agreeing to a marriage of convenience over one of love.
Lady Arden Tanarian was born to wealth, bred to be a fine wife to a high lord. Despite her mother's best efforts, however, her passion for the decidedly unladylike fields of chemistry and elvish culture marks her as a different breed of woman. Though she's always been able to see the bright side of things, Arden's hopes for her life with the dashing, but sullen prince crumble around her in learning where his heart truly lies.
Dubbed The Light of Valentia, Arden has a mystifying effect on the world around her. She inspires something in peopleâ including Dariusâ that he thought he'd never feel again: Hope.
Bonds of the heart forged in battle are strong, but time changes much. When the flames of war fade to low embers, peace in a kingdom can reveal love in the most unexpected places.

All of England rejoiced on her wedding day. But Judith vowed that her husband would get only what he took from her! At the flower-bedecked altar, the first touch of their hands ignited an all-consuming passion. Humiliated and alone in a strange castle, Judith resolved to hate this husband who took her body, but rejected her love...never admitting her fear of losing him.
But destiny held another fate for Judith...a fate that would keep at last...The Velvet Promise.
Quick Review: Rating 4/5 Stars â â â â
Gavin Montgomery is by far my most hated historical romance hero. He is blind by his lust/love to the villain Alice. He mistreats the heroine making me furious as I read the book. But so far, I like the story. And I love the ending.

New from my favorite author Johanna Lindsey.
Beautiful Tempest (Malory Series Book 12)
#1 New York Times bestselling author Johanna Lindsey now reveals the tempestuous story of Jacqueline Malory whose furious desire for revenge leads to a confrontation with the handsome pirate who abducted herâand sparks a much steamier kind of desire. For the first time, James Malory and his Anderson in-laws agree on something: Itâs payback time for the culprit who kidnapped James and Georginaâs beloved daughter Jack from her American debutante party and whisked her away to the Caribbean, no matter that she escaped unscathed. James figured out who masterminded the dastardly plot and is leading a fleet of ships to the West Indies to deliver some Malory-style retribution. More interested in revenge than in finding a husband during her first London Season, Jack is furious that her father left her behind. Then an intriguing stranger leads her and her older brother Jeremy to her mysterious abductor. But instead of capturing him, the Malory siblings wind up as his â guestsâ on a ship sailing away from England. As Jack re-engages in a battle of wills with her all too attentive captor, she realizes he is no ordinary pirate, perhaps no pirate at all, but a nobleman determined to settle a score that dates back to the days when her father was known as Captain Hawkâand what endangers her most is the increasingly passionate attraction they feel for each other.
This is the first time I have read a book written by Paula Quinn. It's a romeo-juliet kind of story. The feud between two families, the MacGregor and Campbell, dates way back to their early ancestors. The heroine is quite refreshing (must see for yourself ;) and the romance is 5 stars <3
