Last year I was diagnosed with Bipolar 1 Disorder. Since then, I spent a lot of my time doing research about symptoms, new medications and treatments for bipolar and focused on the history of this condition for women as part of a research project last semester. I learned that while women make up more than 60% of individuals with bipolar, only a limited number of studies on bipolar focus on women, how menstruation impacts mood swings, and long term effects of medication including the potential issues related to infertility. There is much work to be done in this area!

I'm going to create a limited number of bags in the coming month (May 11 - June 11, 2026) and donate $10 of each bag to the International Bipolar Foundation to help improve care and services for people with Bipolar.
