I know first hand how hard it is to get a place on AirBnb while black. This site just got started. Combat antiblackness, let’s support it. -Dami

The Dapper Rebels of Los Angeles, originally published in LIFE magazine, July 15, 1966.
The “disgust” towards hood culture is solely and mainly directed at black women...
Because, if you look around, just look around in any part of black culture, we have no problem, ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM, embracing hood/ghetto black men. We think they’re cool and the embodiment of swag. We believe they rebel against the All American white male prototype.
The tatted up, trap music making, funky hair cut wearing brothas from around the way are all the rage, we defend them against being labeled “thugs” and we consider their influence on American culture a necessity, something that threatens white men. If white people dare critique them we consider it racism. The whole damn race had a fit about the sagging pants law. I mean I can do this in my sleep.
But, on the flip side, we’re turning up our noses, with thoughts of disdain and uncomfortable images at black women like that. We believe these black women need to be hidden and never seen again. Black women supposedly represent the “bad” black. When black women are this way, it then becomes an embarrassing part of black culture we need to try and distant ourselves from. Chalk it up to misogynoir because that’s all it is, no matter how you slice it. Straight up misogynoir. Black women are suppose to be props and accessories that compliment everyone. Blatantly, we just don’t like ghetto/hood black women.
We don’t hate hood culture, we only hate it on black women. I can pull up so much information to support this. Like my girl K.Michelle said I might shake the table!
I can go deeper with this, until it makes some people so uncomfortable, I’ll probably lose half my followers. I don’t play around.
And those sites like rachetmess that exist to shame black people who don’t uphold respectability politics. Black women (especially if they are fat and dark skinned) are the main ones featured. And for what, colorful hair? Shit that if worn by the likes of Lady Gaga or Katy Perry would be seen as bold and groundbreaking.
the tea is scalding.
I’ve been thinking about this
sooooooo trueeeee
One of my favorite post I made.
I think we all know who's behind all these server crashes
So he associates Black hairstyles with “being weird”? Like being black is not only ‘weird’ but also ‘fun’ was getting choked out by Post Malone not enough for you??? #Hate it!
