As of the preview of Act 3, I noticed that Darien Tiedel–Cridea's kismesis, is a really empty character, he doesn't have much to offer compared to her other party guests.
The most you could get out of him was that he ate wiggler food and that other violets didn't really like him... Most of his character actually just centers around Cridea, which left me wondering if Darien has conflicting feelings towards her.
Despite being in a pitch relationship, Darien doesn't exactly hold his end of the bargain as the majority of time Cridea talks to him, he always checks up on her to see if she's feeling alright. He forgives Cridea very easily when she breaks up with him and even encourages her to get with Trizza before it's too late, he doesn't seem to be angry (despite being a little hurt) that she tells Jerann that he ate wiggler food, so that he wouldn't publish news about her secret flush relationship. If you choose to "humiliate him" or "let him down easily", both options have Darien apologizing and even saying that he'd be willing to make up for his mistakes in order to keep the quadrantship fulfilling for Cridea if you pick the later. Moreover, if you out Darien as the supposed traitor, he tries to reassure her that he would never do anything to harm her whatsoever.
Really most of gestures towards Cridea just scream more like he is a caring friend or moirail. However, I'm more inclined in the moirail aspect, specifically that Darien has a pale crush on her.
I mean, the dude listened to Kalian out of all people, who told him he should talk to her to stay away from Dammek. Why he trusting every word from an unreliable source regarding Cridea's wellbeing? This shit pale as hell.
Not to mention, from his interview, we know that Darien recently dumped his moirail. I'm just saying...
If Darien turns out to have no other dialogue or interaction in the finalized version of Act 3, I'm will sob a river till Act 4.
