i lost my dad on november 26th. when we got the call, we immediately drove back home, feeling lost and confused. i stared out the window, and i remember thinking how everything looked different and unfamiliar. everything felt hollow and far away. things i had driven past on the highway a thousand times before now seemed like new surroundings.

we stopped at a red light and outside my window were stakes in the ground. it was eerie, but resembled the feeling i was having.

there is very little i can do to honor my dad after he is gone. he never told me - but i know he secretly looked at my work online. this is for him.
