𝚆𝚊𝚛𝚜𝚊𝚠, 𝙿𝚘𝚕𝚊𝚗𝚍. 𝟷𝟹 𝙳𝚎𝚌𝚎𝚖𝚋𝚎𝚛 𝟷𝟿𝟾𝟷. The government of the Polish People's Republic (a Socialist Bloc state at the time) has declared martial law in a 6:00 a.m. public broadcast. Tanks are rolled out, a curfew is instilled, phone lines are cut and censorship placed on all media. Here, a theater - the Kino Moskwa - has been closed; the movie showing until that day was 𝘼𝙥𝙤𝙘𝙖𝙡𝙮𝙥𝙨𝙚 𝙉𝙤𝙬. Photo by Chris Niedenthal.
