ready for the house

A year or two the general amount of time allowed for someone to remain stagnant after school. Sojin herself thought that sheād only be a few months before taking after her father, or her mother. It was a boring life, but a life she expected to fall into.
Yongdam Village came alongā or rather, she came across it, and offered a different option. It wasnāt in the plan and the money she had on hand wouldnāt be enough for long. She knew just how impulsive and impractical the move would be, but her legs dragged her off the train before she could stop herself, and she ended up making a home.
She supported herself with small jobs and menial labor as she got to know the village and itās neighboring town. Becoming a handyman of sorts, she tried helping out everyone she could for a couple years. There wasnāt a single thing she was particularly good at, but she enjoyed the feeling of trying.
āIf only people helper was a job,ā she sighed to herself one day, while walking through Yongdam. As if on cue, she stumbled upon the townās police station, and the rest was history.
(History being failing once and nearly failing again because of being too nervous during the firearms test.)
It took a total of five years since stepping into town, but Jo Sojinās here, and sheās ready. Putting on her hat, she stands proudly and proclaims to the sky. āYongdamās people helper is here!ā
A scolding from a nearby elder about noise control later, and sheās actually ready.
