what language should I take in college?

so basically I’ve been taking Latin all four years of high school and while I love it it’s not really what I want to continue with in college, as I’m totally monolingual and always intended on gaining some level of proficiency in a language people actually...speak bc I want to go into government (probably domestic US politics but international relations are also of interest)

anyway so my main options are

• Spanish (took from k-8th grade, never rly got to the whole verb-tenses-thing and have no vocabulary left but post-latin it should be easier to pick up plus I have all my friends who are p good)

• mandarin (extremely useful and I have a lot of friends who speak, but I can’t use Latin at all and it’s very difficult to learn and I’m not like ~amazing~ at language learning)

• Arabic (again, difficult and not Romance language, plus my mom vetoes bc “i may be tempted into going to the Middle East”, but so useful and beautiful)

•German (also useful, tho less so domestically than previous 3, grammar is similar to Latin and I just love how it sounds)

•mystery language that y’all suggest!

Hi my name is ebony p'roductiv mildliner aesthetic way and i have ebony black eyebags (that’s how I got my name) with zero duolingo streaks and red marks on my exam papers and icy blue eyes with actual tears and a lot of people tell me I look ded™ (AN: if u don’t know who ded get da hell out of here!). I’m not related to (insert ur fav studyblr here) but I wish I was because they are a major fucking ~inspiration~. I’m a student and my grades are straight C+. I have pale white skin (bc who hecking goes out). I’m also a studyblr, and I blog on a hell site called tunglr on the internet where I dont even remember what year i am. I’m a geek (in case u couldnt tell) and I wear mostly pjs. I love stationery stores and I buy all my stuff from there. For example today I was using a fancy af mildliner and a tombow brush pen on a $100 premium notebook. I was blogging in tunglr. It was dying and the new color is sht so it was not functional at all, which I was very happy about. A lot of teachers stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them.

anyone have any ideas for a relatively easy-to-draw pink theme for february? my bujo’s been a bit yellow-blue heavy and february is the perf month to switch it up (plus it’s my 18th birthday this month!!!)

a gentle reminder that you did well this year. you met new people, learned new things and felt new feelings. you did so many things that made you scared. you picked yourself up off the floor after feeling completely defeated or heartbroken. there were some really tough nights but you survived them all. you made people happy just by existing. you accepted many goodbyes but the serendipitous meetings made up for them. it was your own hard work that paid off but you always downplay it or compare yourself to others. that’s not fair on yourself. you’ve come so far from the first day of this year. you have more wisdom and strength now. yes, other people seem more “successful” but does that even matter? please don’t think so lowly of yourself to only think about your failures. 2018 was your year of growth. I hope you take a moment to be kind to yourself, and believe that 2019 will be even better.

today’s my section’s free day (aka a day off school; all sections have one) but I’ve got two meetings for extracurriculars, so I went to school. I spent my time waiting in my school’s library.

Spent most of today at my desk, working on a chapter draft. Had another little blip with my health this week (blerghh, I am SO tired of being ill) but am feeling better now and cracking on with writing so I can get this draft to my supervisor before our next meeting. Gonna take tomorrow off to recharge though!
