I think it's tradition for me at this point to get into a new media and then immediately draw the first character that fascinates me. However I was also swayed by the armor design so I'm going to get comfy drawing Alphonse very quickly. Ed is next I need to mess around with his metal limbs in art as well. suuuuuper important to take note of how when ed really wants something he Goes Out And Gets It. edward elric only waits when there’s literally no other option, and even then it’s a toss up; he might just invent something new. he wanted his brother’s body back so he got double automail surgery, left home, became a state alchemist, and defied the laws of nature to make it happen. not once did he opt for playing the long game or seeing if a solution would show itself with time. honestly i think this is a huge part of why he and mustang will never see eye-to-eye; if ed wanted to overthrow the government and take the role of fuhrer, he’d fucking do it. does this make him rash, immature, and often a bit stupid? absolutely. but it’s sooo necessary to remember when considering he made no effort to get back to winry/bring her along on their travels. he was perfectly fine waiting until everything was said and done to see winry again. but alphonse? you best believe he’s going full speed ahead no holds barred when it comes to being able to finally see his brother in flesh and blood again
