Staying Put || Artemis + Hobbie

Arty had sent a short text to Hobbie about a half hour previous, before lugging her tired body out of her current abode and walking her way to his address. She’d never been to his place before, so she was quite unsure what to expect. But the lure of a new house with possible cheaper rent and a sweet roommate to boot had her picking up her pace as not to be late.

The weather was getting warmer, and so Artemis had pulled on her signature high-waisted shorts. She loved warm weather with a passion, part of it reminded her of home, but it paired its self with some sense of adventure for her. It could make you feel welcomed, but warm weather was travelling weather.

It was actually completely unlike her to be looking for longer term housing in the spring time. Usually she’d hop on a train or bus and be out of here within the month. But she had commitments now. She had to graduate and save up some real money and then…well who knew? But she still couldn’t shake the wanderlust.

She got to Hobbie’s address and sent another short text, letting him know she was there.

Hobbie pulled a pan of cookies from the oven and laid the tray on the stove top. His potential new roommate was on her way and Hobbie's anxiety was slowing rising, he knew this would be better for him. He had been hating living alone since he had moved out and was having a hard time adjusting. Artemis had been nice and he slowly kept assuring himself that this would be a smart decision. 

Turning off the oven, he took off his glove. The apartment was perfectly clean and he sighed to himself, hearing his phone go off on the counter. He texted back Arty letting her know he was buzzing her up. After hearing the knock on the door, he quickly opened the door, nervously rubbing the back of his neck. "Um, h-hi, Arty. Welcome, uh, come, um, come right in!" He moved out of the way to let her in.

Well, I’m wrapping up a belated grad year so after three most days work, but my workshift starts at nine PM and goes until four or five in the morning. So I assume afternoons are good?
