If I had all the wishes in the world.

When anyone loses someone who filled them with love and acceptance, the world becomes a harder place. Just know that we can see your light because of him. He shines through you everyday and I am most positive that he is proud of everything you are. Here’s to remembering those who have moved us, shaped us and who will continue to light our lives.

Happy Birthday land of my love.

I am for unbelievably fortunate to be called a Canadian. To hold this citizenship and never let it go. I was born in the deep cold. In the land of maple syrup and hockey sticks. To two people that love me without a doubt. I am so unbelievably fortunate to reside in this land that gives to me as much as it does. With cultural diversity, amazing food and ever varying scenery this country is my love. You have never lived until you have breathed here. Until you have sat in a corn field that is as wide as your eyes can see. Until you have swam in a salty ocean and felt the dunes beneath your toes. Not until you have climbed up a tall mountain and had your breath stolen away have you ever truly lived. This country of ours is unbelievable and so are the people in it. I am so thankful that I was blessed to be born here and that it has allowed me to leave. Canada you give my roots and wings and nothing I ever do will repay you. Eternally yours. xo B.

Icelander. I just spend 10 hours in this beauty of a country. First impressions were amazing. The airport in Reykjavik has a great sense of humour, if you go make sure to keep an eye out for little jokes. I pre-booked a visit at the Blue Lagoon. It ended up being great because I got to skip the line of two buses worth of people buying tickets on the spot. I got the premium package which I liked but isn't really necessary. However, I did eat in the LAVA restaurant, which is a must. Omg the food. Omg. I would say to definitely go in the morning (I went in winter). It gets pretty crazy during the day and it's magical watching the sun rise while you're in the water. My skin felt amazing afterwards, although I do recommend wearing a hair mask and your hair up while you are in the water (I used an Aveda sun mask). Overall I wish I got to say to eat plenty more from the sea, a famous hot dog and ride a Viking horse but next time, my magical winter wonderland, next time. Takk Fyrir. xo B.

In a world where we shoot rockets at each other because we are from different religions. Where children hang themselves because of their god given sexual orientation. In a place where women can't walk home at night because it's unsafe, because the threat of sexual assault is so large. When we live amongst so much heartbreak and delirium. Why can't we laugh and make ridiculous noises because of water being thrown on our head? Why can't we raise awareness for an unbelievable syndrome. Why can't we have fun while doing it? When I look at all of the things that humans do to each other, this is a happy breath of fresh air. This reminds me that we are whole. That we care and that we have the ability to care. So waste some water, and forget for just a second. Because when it clears and the towel dries you off, you will remember. But you might just be a little wiser. The world isn't usually a carefree place, so smile and lap it up while you still can. xo B.
