I'm almost done with the show now (*sobs*) and the one thing that continues to piss me off is Qi Min.

I'm sympathetic to his sad backstory, sure, but that man is a rapist and I'm sick of seeing people playing dumb. There's no "toxic relationship" here. Qianqian was forced from day 1 to be with him, literally thrown at his feet for him to do whatever he wanted, and then forced to go along with whatever he wanted to spare whoever she could.

If this was an ugly old man, nobody would hesitate to call it what it is 🤷‍♀️

thank you for actors and production that are willing to commit to a real kiss and not little chicken peck ridiculousness. but also the little things they choreographed into this are soooo good, like the way he uses the hand she's inspecting (ironically the one time it's not actually hurt lol) to grab her chin and tilt her face up, and the way she goes up into him to kiss him back.

these shots through the window also made me think of the earlier through-the-tent-shadow scene. except this time they're together surrounded by the light.
