Espresso House. A lot of people compliment my handwriting and it always gives me a sincere, elated little jolt of joy. Same as when I was writing my very first essay and my teacher remarked how neatly I was following the lines. It's something I've put a lot of work into, something that makes me feel like a Real Writer (whatever the fuck that means), and that people can recognise my effort at a glance brings me real sparkle. It's the best thing about anything visual. It's quick, and the response is as quick. It's also the worst thing about anything visual, and the best thing about anything written.

Nolhaga slott. Accidentally walked into a secret room still under construction. Lots of empty space, still, as the municipality is in the middle of restoration. Gave me strange, not-quite-right feelings when I saw the rooms done up in hasty elegance, trying to showcase what has already been done yet inevitably still a bit hollow in execution. Photos came out real estate agency because of it. Same vibe. I think a lot about what makes a space like this work for me, and I guess the simple answer is art. If it's too beautiful, too put together, too clean - then it's not asking a lot of questions. All the same: It is beautiful.

Nolhaga slott. The home of some important rich guy or another, these days a park and recreation area open to anyone. I used to despair over dazzling times now lost, but lately I feel like maybe making these old, extravagant places an area where kids scream and chase each other is a much, much better use of the sparkly chandeliers.
