The panels are cut out and physically arranged on a sheet, with changes to panel size and to character poses or positions marked in crayon and pencil. Note that these layouts are not the ones found in the final album. Note also how Hergé makes sure to preserve a mini-cliffhanger at the end of each strip, even when he changes which panel ends the strip
