Shifting depiction on a dynamic for Betty and Veronica's relationship. Between that 1947 panel and the 70s and 80s panels, they aren't working as a team and are separate and competitive. As an example:

And I guess it makes sense that the habit Veronica has had of previewing outfits for Betty, giving her first dibs before the boys, predates when she brings her in on it.

The editors have corrected one problem in that Veronica is not shown practicing dance moves, and that her actions better match warm-up drills. Tired is now Exhausted. Suddenly is no longer broken up. The rotary phone remains trapped in time.

This story has been ret-conned into the universe where Betty has a cat named Caramel (or Carmel if she talks quickly) and not into the universe where her cat is Max.

The basic premise for the gag does become a recurrent but moves off of girls in general to Veronica specifically -- which strikes me as better.

Funny thing. To spell out "an IBM Machine" is to say "an International Business Machines Machine". In a change made at some point three decades or so back, IBM actually now officially stands for nothing -- it is just three letters. Maybe there is a metaphor in that -- I do not know.

The word "computer" apparently does not spring to mind in 1962. Had it, we could have solved that redundancy problem. This makes that change to IBN all the more perplexing -- because had they dropped that change in the first place, that too would solve the two machines rubbing against each other trouble.
